Can we just discussed this matter right directly to their main thread than making another thread? For sure, more threads will be made regarding this. The discussion at their ANN thread is active about the closuse and no need to have a separate discussion for this.

For now we don't know the real reason but as Michelle stated,

For me they closed for two reasons. One is that they took a big hit or several big hits lately as all soccer games are coming like predicted in these last days or Two they are closing because they have won enough bitcoins to not bother anymore with the site and start enjoying their different lifestyle. It is a sad event for the bitcoin gambling community knowing how easy was to bet at the site without the need to have an account.

They do have the reason on their thread that they are pursuing other things in life.

They have stopped, thankfully you watched it. It was one of the sport-books where I at least knew that I won't get scammed, maybe the odds are a bit low and the settlement is a bit delayed but the team was quite impeccable and never doubted that. I think the dogecoin's bump was one reason and the latest BTC price jump due to the wannacry virus was the main reasons.

This is simply unexpected, because it have been in the lead as the best sports book for the gamblers. Yes and the reason is not the high price of bitcoins because if such was the reason, they could well have withdrawn the bitcoins and pay users through buying bitcoins all the time, the most annoying thing is that they haven't even gave a slight chance of some new site or service coming.

Just closed it, the good thing is they haven't scammed anyone even when their exit was near. A lot of sites end on a scamming note since they feel that's the best. I had some funds in the casino wallet, withdrawn them without any issues.

Read their main thread, it is true they are going to close down. Indeed, most players play on directbet with no accounts but there are some players who have playing wallet on casino.directbet. Dont you understand the meaning of the sentence that you are focusing on?

One reason I believe is that they thought the price of bitcoins was way too much than anyone expected and if the price by chance drops to $600 odd mark again they already loose 1/3 rd of their capital and hence they played safe and withdraw all. I think you might be right. I presume they have collected enough bitcoins in their wallet and with the high bitcoin price, they have played it safe to stop and withdraw everything before the price goes down. Nice strategy though.

High probability that this might be the reason why they suddenly shut down because they do already secure their profits or capital they will loss up really some money if the price tends to go backwards again. Its really a smart move though but without thinking that they can able to generate more profit if they decide to continue their service knowing its popularity I can say that they are profitable.

really a big loss , directbet was a precious asset for bitcoin gambling world especially this forum ,
no wonder a lot of people put sympathy on them so deep ,

This is indeed a black day and bad news for all the gamblers. Directbet was one of the trusted and mine favorite site to bet on. There sports betting features were marvelous and i will really miss them.
I just wonder there could be any legal obligation which made them close it , as in term of profits there was no problem and they were making good profits.

They were the only site I knew of that didn't need you to have a 1 confirmation before your bet was placed which was a major advantage to most sportsbetting sites.
Is there anyother site that offers this service and without having to register an account on their site to place bets? No I don't think so.
They were in a niche market if not the only one to offer this sort of service in the sports betting world.

Directbet is a unique gambling site. We can place our bets without the need to make an account at the site. The reason why this site being closed maybe due to the fact that recently, bitcoin transaction can take days to get a confirmation. Hence the numbers of unsettled bets will grow from time to time and for sure that will be hard to manage.
