It depends what you mean by POWER.. Any country who's leaders have been corrupt and threw in jail and showed democracy then that's power to the people..PERFECT.. BUT leaders who could crush opposition parties and kill their own peoples then maybe RUSSIAN LEADER IRAN LEADER CHINA LEADER And soon the people of the EU will be superstate slaves..SO MANY RULES while the political elite live off your life's work and put your future children in debt while their family have a nice life and always will off you the tax paying slave.. Taxes needed but for the right things ..Not for political families to have a good life..  |

If you ask, who is the most powerful politician at the moment, I will ask you first: how do you measure power? If you measure it by e.g. how many people they are able to control, I'd respond: - Vladimir Putin - Xi Jinping Why? Because they actually have control over their nations However, if you measure power by the ability to influence other nations / would events etc, my response would be: - Angela Merkel & Francois Macron - because those two can practically make anything happen in Europe and around - Kim Jong Un - because this guy managed to provoke the President of the United States with basically 1 sentence. If you can make POTUS react to what you do / say - you have power, no matter how small country you rule |

They are very powerful people, but are they more powerful than the American president? Personally, I think that Vladimir Putin is stronger than Donald Trump. But then, Russia is not as powerful as the United States, if we take in to account the military and defense capabilities. |

My pick would definitely be Xi Jinping, the current leader of China. I mean look at China's growth on the world stage at the moment, they're basically number two or three, just behind the US and maybe lacking slightly behind Russia. I think China has been able to achieve this growth thanks to Xin Jinping and his no nonsense attitude.

Kim Jong UN. Basically if you have the nuclear power and the threat of using it, you definitely pose a threat in the international community. North Korea has also the military capability that can invade other countries. Though they lack the soft power, they offset it by accumulating a lot of hard power.
