Just would like to ask, based from your reply, are all the people who pm'ed you denied? Or, are you reviewing all of the applicants, and you will choose from all of them?

I had PMed him yesterday, but I guess I got rejected. There is only one spot and I think that person should compulsorily be a native English writer. Since the writer is not going to come with original content, in fact, rephrasing articles, IMO non-native English writers can also do this task, just saying.
