Bitcoin PayPal Scammer on this forum

Greetings everyone, I'm here to inform you of a scammer who conducts his business on Bitcoinary. He goes by the name of "Stryder" or "Phillip Skinner" with the email address "xeshirox@hotmail.com"

I paid a significant amount of money for 2 bitcoins on Bitcoinary, and foolishly didn't use the escrow system because he didn't bring it up. I put the money into his account, and he said once the Blockchain had finished updating, he'd send me the coins. Two days later; no coins at all. I admit that I should've been more careful, of course, but the feedback on the site didn't give his shtick away. Instead, by googling his details we're taken to multiple posts like these ones:

This is an absolute disgrace. Once again I understand that I was irresponsible, but the guy has done it to multiple people, and will do this again. I need to get the message across to PayPal that "Phillip Skinner" is using his PayPal account to scam people. He must be banned, or I should either get my coins, or my money back.

Open a dispute through PayPal? The problem is, he said to send it through PERSONAL GIFT, so I'm worried that PayPal won't believe me. Is there a way to get my point across to them that he's done it before and everything? Thanks in advance for your help.

But isn't an unauthorized charge meant to be if someone else literally gets into your account and sends it? I just really hope PayPal will be compliant.

Yes, unauthorized charge is meant to be if someone literally  got into your account and sends it, but I don't think PayPal will check if it was really unauthorized.

They do and they will. The only way that works is if you purposely make it look like your account got hacked at the time you sent the money. So, the bad guys always win.

1. Either go through your bank and reverse
2. Or if used credit card - much easier - chargeback

in both cases, say the truth - seller scammed. You got covered.

A chargeback shouldn't be too hard. best of luck retrieving the coins, there's a very good chance Paypal will side with you, so shouldn't be any problems.

I won't lie to them, I'll just tell them the truth, because I did make the mistake of falling for it. But yeah, just thought I'd let you know about Stryder, and how he's a thief and has done it multiple times. It's a real shame when the brilliance of Bitcoin is undermined by people who scam others. Even worse is how the price is lower than what I paid for the bitcoins now, so I should've waiting.

Does this mean, if he transferred the funds from his account? Damn, that would suck hard. There would have to be a way for PayPal to compensate.

If the account has been emptied you'll get nothing from Paypal.

This is the message I received when trying to file a PayPal claim. Shit.
