I use Blockchain.info as my wallet. I had several of my Bitcoin transactions pending for days(5days and counting), I tried using some services(both paid and free ones) to speed up the transactions without success. While going through this forum I came across a comment on how easy it is transferring through Poloniex. I tried transfering some of my trading money & behold it transfered very fast in less than 5minutes to be precised.

I have decided to use poloniex as both wallet and trading platform until the problem of pending transaction is solved. Meanwhile all my other transactions at Blockchain.info remain unconfirmed. I don't know if I can cancel them or reroute all the Bitcoin to my Poloniex address. I have replaced my former Wallet address with Poloniex Bitcoin Address in all Bitcoin services I use online.

You too can try this.

Yeah, but don't get your hopes so up. The exchange website is currently experiencing a massive traffic that they weren't prepared for, due to this, some withdrawals are getting stuck, some accounts as well. Using an exchange wallet always has the risk of getting your funds out of your control. They hold both – your private keys and your funds.

Although you can save some satoshis in fee by using poloniex as bitcoin wallet but you will lost full control over your bitcoin. I suggest you to use electrum wallet where you can set custom fee per KB of transaction, for me its better to pay quite higher fee rather than losing control over my bitcoins.

that's a freaking terrible idea. if this alt bubble continues poloniex might become unusable. if you really must use a website, then find a more solid one or you might bitterly regret it. no one, but no one should be using it as a wallet. i'd give up a huge amount of convenience for the sake of safety.

Please you guys advicing against using poloniex as wallet should at least tell me how my Bitcoin would dissappear from there.  Are there history of Poloniex being unstable that led to Bitcoin dissappearing or something??

poloniex has been hacked in the past, but they paid back their customers.

http://www.coindesk.com/poloniex-loses-12-3-bitcoins-latest-bitcoin-exchange-hack/

but the bigger problem now is the strain on poloniex. they have loads of new users and a lot of people are reporting problem with withdrawals.

if you put bitcoin on any exchange, you don't have bitcoin any more. all you got is an IOU that you hope they pay back.

Op, your unconfirmed transaction has nothing to do with the wallet you are using. It is true that blockchain.info is notorious for having a little to low fee,
but you can set your own - higher fee manually, in times when tx fee is $2 we can't really complain that blockchain.info is trying to cut cost for its users.

Using any exchange as your wallet and primary place where you will be storing your coins is not the best idea.
Even the biggest exchanges can fail or be hacked: MtGox or Bitfinex are good examples. You can keep only change money there.

In fact, to use the purse on the exchange is not appropriate and it is dangerous.
Do not skimp on the commission and use classic wallets.

Use electrum wallet instead. You have full control of the seeds and the private key plus you can dynamically adjust fees so that your transaction can be pick up faster in the next block. I have nothing against Poloniex, but lately they have been experiencing some network traffic and DDoS attack. And you don't have control over your funds. And once they are hacked, your bitcoin is gone.

Not a good idea. It is not a good idea to store your bitcoin on exchanges cause you do not control the private keys and the site may get hacked and you lose all your bitcoin. You should have learned from bitfinex when they got hacked.

It seems this is a good option to go by in this time of massive unconfirmed transactions in which I am also still looking for solution to for several days now. But the issue is that based on this your enlightenment and the pressure land population moved to poloniex, will they be able to handle the traffic and we won't be back to want we are running from in the first place considering poloniex has been having some issues in this past few days.

Great to  know that your transaction is confirmed.  I bet you have learned your lesson that sending he right amount of transaction is best to make our transaction confirmed faster and never send an unconfirmed transaction because it might produce a double jeopardy issue.

The normal trend is for people to stay away from using exchanges as bank, but you seem to want to do the opposite. I want to believe you never lost to any of the also robust exchanges in the past that went underground, because that should have been all the lessons you need.  At any rate, learn from other people mistakes and dont wait till it happens to you too.  At any rate, paying even higher fees and having your funds intact is 101% a better choice.

I guess you need to stop using blockchain wallet i use that too but just a advice but the transactions in that wallet is taking too long i already transfer all my bitcoin from another wallet and it takes almost 7days and the fees was is almost takes 4$ so no good with this wallet you better change wallet like i do.

it has nothing to do with the wallet you use..
if you send bitcoin with the proper fee, it wont take very long to confirm no matter what wallet you use.

so in short, you have decided to give up using a buggy web wallet which at least you controlled the private keys so you could also control the money and instead chose a third party which will control your money and you have 0 control or power in the matter.

good luck. and just have what happened to Cryptsy and Mt gox and similar exchanges in the back of your mind.

Now bitcoin is moving on and having a great future ahead.

Never use an exchange as wallet. Poloniex itself has been hacked once, they may be again and end like cryptsy.

I would at least until they "stabilize" and the flux of reports of issues end
