I deleted the Armory databases folder and started Armory which seemed to finish ok as I can see my wallet and coins. However, I am having trouble sending BTC as nothing seems to happen!  I noticed 2 things:

1. The bottom right of the Armory window says "Node offline (466979 blocks)"

2. The bottom of the log file shows a "POLLERR error"!  what is that?
-INFO  - 1495553096: (..\BlockchainScanner.cpp:225) scanned transaction history in 4724s
-INFO  - 1495553097: (..\BlockchainScanner.cpp:650) scanned from height #466979 to #466979
-ERROR - 1495553634: (..\SocketObject.cpp:285) POLLERR error in readFromSocketThread
-ERROR - 1495553634: (..\BitcoinP2P.cpp:1027) caught SocketError exception in processDataStackThread: POLLERR error in readFromSocketThread
-INFO  - 1495553645: (..\BDM_supportClasses.cpp:366) Starting address registration process
-WARN  - 1495553645: (..\BDM_supportClasses.cpp:213) Updating ssh last scanned
-INFO  - 1495553647: (..\BlockchainScanner.cpp:650) scanned from height #466979 to #466979
-INFO  - 1495553647: (..\BDM_supportClasses.cpp:480) Completed scan of wallet 2ZWCQCAGF
-INFO  - 1495554099: (..\nodeRPC.cpp:368) Bitcoin server stopping
-INFO  - 1495554116: (..\BDM_Server.cpp:1025) unregistered bdv: 319f0efdd4d87b6e4b47
-INFO  - 1495554116: (..\BDM_Server.cpp:936) proceeding to shutdown

Could these be affecting the issue with sending btc?  How do I fix these errors?

Thank you!

Try starting Bitcoin Core manually. First start Armory. Then uncheck the "Let Armory run Bitcoin Core in the background" box in File > Settings. Then stop Armory. Start Bitcoin Core and let it sync and get fully started. Then start Armory. It should then say that you are online. Then you can send. If you are not online, you will not be able to send transactions.

You should try the testing builds:

Update:

Thank you goatpig and achow101 for your advice. I installed the latest versions (Core 0.14.1 and Armory 0.96.1) and rebuilt Bitcoin Core from scratch (took 3 days on my laptop) but the log still showed errors and Armory still said Node Offline!  I ended up exporting my wallet private keys and sweeping them into another wallet that does not require me to download the entire blockchain.

Thanks again.

I am bringing this topic in the present day so to give many thanks to achow101!

I have tried everything for solving connectivity issues with Armony and Core wallet but with no success.
In between my searching inside the forum I also found this old topic which actually gave me the solution

So I posted for helping other users that may have similar errors
