There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

I think bitcoin plays a positive role if it is accepted for payment at the hotel. Because it attracts special attention to the hotel. It seems modern!
It is a great step in forward direction for bitcoins and it is also happy news for bitcoins holders. At least now we can enjoy paying our bills in satoshis. It is good to see digital currencies being used as a currency rather than just an investment tool or an asset.

i think unlike fast foods, bitcoin might be suited in hotels since guests usually stays longer. so even waiting for a few hours for your

transaction to get at least 1 confirmation might not be a problem although just to be sure guest/s should provide government issued

ID's and claim them when confirmation/s comes. the problem is the said hotels should promote awareness that they're accepting

bitcoin otherwise no one will know unless someone search them

I think no hotel available accepts bitcoin because it is not popular currency and most hotels do not even understand what bitcoin is and how it works so the ability to accept bitcoin Is not it high yet and it will take time to be able to see a hotel that accepts bitcoin about their business.

According to this link, a bloomberg news site, it was mentioned that there are two hotels in LAS Vegas that accepts bitcoin as payment for hotels, food and drinks. If you want to visit this place as a tourist or to gamble and you happened to lost your money to gambling you can always use you stored bitcoins to get a room to sleep and relax and enjoy the food and booze.
This is great news. The more companies accept bitcoins as methods of payment, the more bitcoin will be established as a valuable currency!

Although it's very unlikely for a hotel management to accept bitcoin as the means of payment for its services as they would not be a fixed price to pay and will be daily fluctuations in the amount to be paid for a room or other particular service.. However it's a welcome step if any such decision has been taken.. This will impact the liquidity of bitcoins and help in establishing the currency even more..

Here are about 1 million hotels that take bitcoin.  Wink

https://www.expedia.com/

1 million hotels across the world that take bitcoin as payments must be music to the ears for those who are travelers. This will be better in the future because Bitcoin will be more widespread. If my bitcoin income will become bigger I would want to travel to places while doing my bitcoin tasks. This news is going to be useful.

Really? I do not know so many hotels accepted Bitcoin. Are you sure there are even a million hotels? There are like 50,000 McDonalds only I doubt there are twenty times as many hotels, but could be wrong.

Well to be honest, none of them are "taking" bitcoin.
You pay with bitcoins, they receive fiat.

It's like when I travel outside the Eurozone , I pay with my card on which I have euros but the merchants is receiving leva or turkish lira or whatever currency is in that country.

I want to see more hotels which have their own BTC gateway where you pay with coins they receive coins and they don;t rush like morons to exchange them all for fiat.
Keep at least a tiny percent like overstock is doing.

Not many hotels are accepting bitcoins these days and there can be multiple reasons for it. Firstly, there are not many people who are willing to pay in bitcoins due to whatever reasons. Maybe they do not have bitcoins or they do not have even knowledge of bitcoins. Secondly Hotels may not introduce bitcoins for only handful of people and they might be waiting for large masses to accept bitcoin first.

I don't think that your first reason is right because if they accept bitcoin then they can attract more people that uses bitcoin to use their service because the other or the most bitcoin user find places that are accepting bitcoin as an convenient way for them and that is a sure thing that they can attract more and more customer becuase they will become popular for using bitcoin as an option in payment.

I don't agree. Why will they become popular? Users of bitcoin are reluctant to part with their coins. This leads to the fact that hotels do not see the demand for such payment and therefore does not upset the opportunity. If there is a constant demand then there will be supply.

If that will be the case with all the hotels all over the world it will be a very great news to all people who love to travel. You can travel wherever you want without worrying about your lodging when you get short of cash due to buying souvenirs or stuff while traveling.

I think a lot of businesses are years away from holding the bitcoin they receive. It's understandable considering the price volatility. Payment processors are going to be big players in this space. At least I get to book my travel with bitcoin.

P.S. There is (or at least there was) a bitcoin ATM in Atatürk airport. Very convenient for dumping your Lira and receiving BTC on your phone!
