I haven't heard those hotels that accepting already bitcoin as a payment but if I'm just late on this news and it is already happening in O'Day will this is a great news for a bitcoin society and to bitcoin itself. It only indicates that bitcoin is keep on progressing though bitcoins price are keep on fluctuating at least the society today are learning to appreciate bitcoin.

Well this is a welcome move. If hotels start accepting bitcoins then throughout world we can expect a similar change gradually. This will mean that a person travelling from one part of the country to another need not worry about exchanges. Further, the burden of carrying cash can be cut.

However, we must remember that the value of Bitcoin is based on the value of fiat currencies. That is one bitcoin is worth x amount of dollar, y amount of pound, z amount of yen or rupee. So the conversion will always be there depending upon the place where the expenditure is happening. Though one will be free from the currency conversions in the exchanges, one is sure to convert the 'value' of the charge in terms of bitcoins. But still, the payment in bitcoins will be the same for all people and this is a progressive step for all.

If we can extend this idea to commodities and products, again we are faced with the same issue of what will be the worth of the product. The original expenditure and the price set for that particular product needs to be converted into bitcoin value and the price needs to be set. This opens us a way to aspire for a uniform price tag for a product all through the world. There could be a paradigm shift in the markets.

As of now it does appear essential to hold on to fiat currencies to simply estimate the value of a good or a product or a service in terms of bitcoins. Only that the high volatility of the price of bitcoin can cause problems with determining the price. In this case, a stable price could increase the number of places you can pay with bitcoin.

Bitcoin goes the same way that PayPal used to be. At first it seems strange to many but it gradually becomes a part of our life. Expedia travel agency accepts bitcoins when booking hotels, booking airline tickets and renting cars.
Recently I contacted the Booking but there's no such payment function in bitcoins.

If a hotel starts receiving bitcoin of course one day many other companies also accept bitcoin instead of hotels that may accept bitcoin as currency and as a means of transaction.

It will be a progressive idea if hotels accept bitcoin for payments. But i doubt its acceptability in different countries.
