i have this motherboard https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B150-PLUS-D3/ which has 4 pcies but as soon as i put the 3rd card on it, it won't boot.
is there any way to make it work or should i buy another motherboard?

i finally made it work, with 4 gpus Cheesy Cheesy
if you ran into the same problem, these things might help:
update the bios, lower all the pcies to gen 1, disable anything useless. i also found out for some z270s and b250s you need to change tolud size as well
