If I buy a mobo that has 6 PCIe slots and get 6 PCIe raiser cards will it work for mining no matter the chipset? For example:  http://www.microcenter.com/product/467528/TUF_Sabertooth_990FX_R30_AM3_ATX_AMD_Motherboard, or does it have to be h97, z97 h61 or h81?

Short answer: No.
Not all motherboard with 6+ PCIe slots will run 6 GPUs.
There are other factors, like how many PCIe lanes are available.
Sometimes plugging in a device to one PCIe slot will disable a different PCIe slot.

It's safest to find what other people have shown to work with 6 or 7 cards and just buy that one.
