You will soon learn by doing it for the next time. BTC isn't for an average Joe so start with, no anymore with this ATH prices.

Next time when use recommended fee before sending BTC to anyone. Maybe this site will help you further on https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

ok but this site doesn't help me a lot (kinda hard to understand). so i get that the optional fee was too low and that's a reason why the transaction doesn't get confirmed? So what can i do about it now? thanks again for your help

You can use Transaction Accelerator, available here https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/. Read about that more here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1816647.60. Although haven't really tried it yet. Good luck.

This site https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ explains what is the recommended fee for an average transaction. As it says right now:

Quote
The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 390 satoshis/byte

You used 50 sat/B and with that fee your transaction will get confirm in infinite time.

hm i tried it and it said "Submissions are beyond limit. Please try later." that's what it says with other people as well so i think maybe the service is overbooked. do i have any other options? cancelling the transaction and making a new one with higher fees for example?

Try reading thru this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802212.0. It well written and describes in details your situation. Believe me, your are not the first one and surely not the last one who is facing with this issue. Maybe some other members will come here and point you to more helpful topics.

Do you have coins left in your wallet? If so, CPFP with a good fee.

I don't have coins left in my armory wallet. i know what cpfp means (child pays for parent) but i'm not sure how that works. never done it (still new to bitcoin and don't completely understand the underlying mechanics)

You spend one of the stuck transaction newly created output (usually the change) back to yourself with a big fee. For miners to get that fee, they have to mine the child as well (the stuck transaction).

You can do that with 0.96 but you would need your stuck transaction to have change. Otherwise you have to CPFP with the recipient wallet/service (if it allows for it).
