P2Pool for CHNcoin on a 100mbit line with very low latency

New CNC server up and running.
Code:
http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9340
Including all latest fixes. Payment shares fixed
DOA should be much lower, also for slow miners.

Old CNC pool
Code:
http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333

Mining User: Your CHNCoin Address
Mining Pass: Anything

cgminer:
cgminer --scrypt -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9340 -u yourCNCaddress -p x -s 5 --expiry 5 --gpu-threads 1 --queue 0

cudaminer:
cudaminer -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9340 -u yourCNCaddress -p x

Small tips for reducing DOA rate.

You can set your share difficulty by adding +0.0000xxxx to your CHNcoin adress:

yourCNCaddress+0.0004872

Recommend share difficulty:

Hash Rate (KHash/s)   Difficulty
1   +0.00000116
5   +0.00000582
10   +0.00001164
50   +0.00005821
100   +0.00011641
250   +0.00029103
500   +0.00058207
750   +0.00087310
1000   +0.00116414

Also make sure to set --queue 0 in your miner and --gpu-threads 1

Example:

cgminer --scrypt -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9340 -u yourCNCaddress+0.00058207 -p x -s 5 --expiry 5 --gpu-threads 1 --intensity 12 --queue 0

Lowering the intensity just slightly might also reduce DOA a little bit

Test it out and let me know ;-)

FYI: With other pools like PushPool's there will still be a HIGH DOA / stale rate, you just wont see it in your local miner
So while your miner says 15 % stale, it might actually be 75% in PushPool log

Updates:
May 07, 2013, 12:03:05: New CNC server with all latest p2pool fixes. Tweaked to CNC with help from p2pool developer
May 06, 2013, 09:03:00: Updated p2pool version and interface again. Added more cpu power and memory to the server
May 06, 2013, 02:10:21: Network hardware upgraded, should handle DDOS better now.

DDOS away... Someone must be really bored. Rebuilt server until it was sorted out with clean install.
Another Major DDOS and hack attack. Moved p2pool to another and faster server
Another DDOS attack filtered out and restarted server
DDOS attack filtered out. Interfaced updated
All stats working and tweaking interface tonight for cleaner viewing.
Found a lot of blocks the lasts hours ;-)

Mine away

LP connects, but then I get no response from server? I'm using cudaminer,

-d 0 -i 0 -C 2 -l 32x5 -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333 -u CYpMCofuB5aEpdxdccvw27aXCTCXrzXfT1 -p x

After long poll activates I get an "HTTP request failed: failled to connect to chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333; no error" along with a hash rate around 80-89khs

anything to help?

Not sure, something on your side I think, maybe your firewall blocking cudaminer

Can you see http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333 ?

Yes, difficulty jumped from 1 to 4.

We are still running with a decent hash rate through, so should still be finding blocks relative fast

Is it possible to lower the share difficulty? it'll help with the reject rate.

I'm trying to create a new account, but can't find the "Register" on this URL http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333
How can I point the miner to my user if I didn't register? Should I use an address from my Wallet to mine as my username? If so, how can I specify a password?

Sorry my questions sound so noob, I just need to sign up LOL

There is no signup on p2pools, the easy part of it.

Just point your miner and use your CHN address as username and whatever password (password is not used for anything)

You will be paid out whenever a block is found based on your share.

Pool is currently getting DDOSed, looking into the matter.

Web stats are currently down, but mine pool still running without a glitch and sending out shares.

You can still mine away and get your shares, but wont be able to see the stats right now

-
All ddos ip's being logged and reported ;-)

But yearh your right. Stale rate is dependent on a lot of things and doesn't really tell the full story

mining with 2 radeon 7970 , 51 accepted for each card, very quick with the settings you wrote in first page, like adding --queue 0 and the difficult to the cnc address , 10 minutes mining, still no coin received on client ....

how much time it does require to get the coins on the client?

Very good pool, don't be scared of the reject rate. I started getting coins about an hour or so in, think I will be here overnight.

I can connect, no rejects and 5 accepted after about 10 minutes (no payouts yet).

I use cgminer --scrypt -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333 -u my-address -p x -s 5 --expiry 10 --gpu-threads 1 --intensity 14 --queue 0

I do get a lot of HW errors: 10 in first 10 minutes. Is this normal or am I missing some settings above? Using a Radeon 6950, currently 335kh/s

Another major attack. But don't surrender that easy :-)

Server also crashed, so used the time to rebuilt it with clean Ubuntu installation, additional memory and new p2pool

Mine away ;-)

.Note been stable for the next few hours and found some blocks..

I seem to be throwing MH at this pool without my wallet address ever appearing on the payout list - if it does, it stays for 1 or 2 payouts and is then gone.

same for me here. sometimes it stays for a couple of blocks but afterwars gone. strange stuff.

but sometimes it reappears and you will get much more of your normal amount.

@narken could you please explain this behaviour?

I'm auctually currently looking at this.

Seems like after noding up with rest of p2pool shares is not always calculated correctly.

I might switch us back to solo mining on single node again to prevent this

I have noticed other cnc p2pools have the same problem.

Seems to be a general problem with connected p2pools and cnc

Seems like sometimes payments from connected nodes is not accepted in the node network

try to that

-s 5 --expiry 5 --intensity 18 --queue 0

it`s the most suitable for my 2600kh/s rig... Roll Eyes

by the way, bter.com seems to be is not a honest exchange: only after several letters to support my 63CNC has revealed at account during massive down of exchange rate.

Short downtime while network hardware is being upgraded to better handle any potential DDOS attacks.

It shouldn't take long as everything is really to be switched over

Another SCAM pool...

Scam pool ??

Not at all mate

As I told you as lot of times there is some know problems with cnc and pools

Check the other cnc pool threads, all cnc pools have seen this problem

And I can tell you, when you don't get paid out then pool fee is not paid out.
So we both loose when this happens rarely.
So trust me, its also in my interest to get it sorted out ASAP

So scam pool ? Not at all.

Small tips for reducing DOA rate.

You can set your share difficulty by adding +0.0000xxxx to your CHNcoin adress:

yourCNCaddress+0.0004872

Recommend share difficulty:

Hash Rate (KHash/s)   Difficulty
1   +0.00000116
5   +0.00000582
10   +0.00001164
50   +0.00005821
100   +0.00011641
250   +0.00029103
500   +0.00058207
750   +0.00087310
1000   +0.00116414

Could you explain this a little?

I'm now using this cudaminer command, is this correct?

cudaminer.exe --algo scrypt -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333 -u CRWRgb1Gmrw8jjQbUeYAYhqpNjpB9avRH2+0.00029103 -p x -d 0 -i 1 -C 2 -l 80x2

What does the +0.00029103 actually improve?

No sorry, currently tweaking it. Have to restart p2pool server everytime, no way to reload scripts when started.

It should be rock stable with recent upgrades.

Small tips for reducing DOA rate.

You can set your share difficulty by adding +0.0000xxxx to your CHNcoin adress:

yourCNCaddress+0.0004872

Recommend share difficulty:

Hash Rate (KHash/s)   Difficulty
1   +0.00000116
5   +0.00000582
10   +0.00001164
50   +0.00005821
100   +0.00011641
250   +0.00029103
500   +0.00058207
750   +0.00087310
1000   +0.00116414

Could you explain this a little?

I'm now using this cudaminer command, is this correct?

cudaminer.exe --algo scrypt -o chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333 -u CRWRgb1Gmrw8jjQbUeYAYhqpNjpB9avRH2+0.00029103 -p x -d 0 -i 1 -C 2 -l 80x2

What does the +0.00029103 actually improve?

Im not that familiar with cudaminer.

For share difficulty:
If you got low hashrate, it might help to ask the pool to get lower shares difficulty to solve or you would perhaps never submit any share.
But its not that simple again, since you would have to solve more shares

I will try to dig up some more precise information.

It works fine.

You need to refresh stats page in browser. Lastbock information is not updated live.
I will work on that later.

SO refresh stats page for newest blocks found ;-)

Also payments have been sent out for the last 12 hours ;-)
So everything is currently working correct

NOTE:
I'm currently fixing the p2pool code base, and will set up a new test server.
Payments should be more steady with added fixes recommended by p2pool devs.

New CNC test server up and running

http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9340

Including all latest fixes and more even payment
It should solve the payout problems that most p2pools had.

Lets test it out and I will announce code so other nodes can follow.

It should also fix the DOA for some miners and slow miners

Any chance you could get bbqcoin going on p2pool as well.

Isn't it easier to bring down the 9333 one and bring the new one up on the same port?

Would save firewall configurations and settings, and keep all miners running

I tried that, but its not possible due how to p2pool works.
Since share calculation and share ID is changed in new code it makes a lot of mess and DOA from old miners if I just switch over

Sp currently the old server
http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9333/static/
is running on the old code base with wrongly share calculation.

and new one is running on new code base
http://chncoin.no-ip.biz:9340/static/

And since its p2pool, it doesnt matter that local hashrate is low, since we are noded up with rest of network using the new code base
I sent the new code base to BlastBoB and he's also using it.

There no new block since 7h00, is that normal ?

Let me check..

Everything seems to run fine.

To many people jumped to other coins after the Diff changed to 44

Like everything else there is luck involved.

We could hit 4 blocks in a row, or mine for few hours with no blocks.

Total hashrate down to 880Mh/s

New diff if changed was now 12
Estimated difficulty change   -72%

So network lost like 1/4 hash power and diff is still high

I have a problem though.
I set it up for chncoin

Then I pointed 50kh of my crappy gpu at it with cgminer stratum.
Then I added around 25kh of cpu with minerd longpoll.

Cgminer appears to be working correctly.
minerd gets a few yays at first then all boos

my stats page shows 1kh total

something is horribly wrong!
any ideas?

It's had more than 10 mins.

It lives here.

It went up for a bit.....then down.

Maybe the VPS it's on is screwy.
I'll run it overnight and see i guess.

Overnight it stayed broken on my vps.

So i set up a bbqcoin one locally.

Same problem.

Stratum appearing to work in cgminer but not actually showing more than 1% of shares in stats
Longpoll odd if i use --fix-protocol (keeps reconnecting to longpoll.)
cpuminer few accepted then everything reejected (it uses longpoll too)

I had a working p2pool from https://github.com/chrda/p2pool-chncoin.git but it only worked in longpoll mode
stratum had the same problem as this one. (1%)

Can anyone chime in with a solution?

Thanks
