Well I do not know what is going on but its been 18 hours since I sent $10 of btc to a wallet and it has not been confirmed. Is there a reason for this?

The wallet (or service) that you used to send the transaction did not calculate a high enough transaction fee. Transactions that paid a higher fee-per-byte than you are getting confirmed instead of your transaction.

What wallet or website did you use to send the transaction?

Currently, most of my fee is 400/byte and I still need to wait more than 1 day for my transaction to be confirmed. Your fee is only 160 satoshi/byte. well, I think it will stuck there for whole week

I guess it is due to lower transaction fee, I just noticed that any transaction less than 200s.byte will be possibly confirmed on the next 25 blocks, mostly the one that is instantly confirmed are the one that sent a transaction of 400+ sat/ byte.  There is a sudden increase in transaction fee and this time it is actually insane.

Wirex messed up.  They didn't pay a high enough transaction fee when they built the transaction.  You'll have to complain to them.  Let them know that you refuse to use their service until they learn how to properly create a bitcoin transaction, and let all your friends, family, and acquaintances know to avoid Wirex because they don't know how to use bitcoin properly and if they made a mistake this simple then they are likely to make other more expensive mistakes eventually.

He paid about $2 to move $10 in a transaction. As long as that fee is considered too low for practical usage then Bitcoin can be considered completely unusable for everyday life. I want to resume doing actual real world commerce in Bitcoin but if the only practical transactions are in the thousands of dollars then it is completely impossible.

Transaction fee issue. You better start to get used to send .0005 btc and up so thwt you could get your amount within the day. You dont have to worry to much do because that amount would directly go back to your account if it is not been confirmed

Thanks

The transaction fee of 159sat/B is really low right now. If you wanna know how much fee you should pay, just take a quick look at https://bitcoinfees.21.co before doing any transaction and you'll be able to gauge the delay for the first confirmation.

It looks like wirex need to update their fee policy, they should increase their fee per byte. The fee your transaction have right now could be enough before but right now it should be way above that amount. Bitcoin is no longer suitable for micro transactions like before because of on going mempool congestion and high fees.

You can use viabtc tx accelerator to get confirmation faster.
