Hi everyone,

as i am new in mining I would like to ask you something easy i believe.

I have an S9 Antminer and is online 13 days now non stop.

In the first 11-12 days i saw only 70 rejected shares in the "miner status"" tab. and in the F2Pool website it was saying "rejected % " 0,1%.

It been 1 or 2 days the F2pool website says 0,7% and the miner status went to 123 rejected shares.

Are these values normal?? and why in only 1-2 days it was almost doubled the figure??

Do i need to do something?

Bare in mind the total mined shares at that moment is 51.000

Thank you in advance.

Could be problems with your internet connection which have been sorted by your provider. Could be pool side issues. Not a figure to worry about though.

thank you for the fast reply.

i also thought it might be the internet service provider which is not the best of all companies Smiley

and if the figure is between normal values as u say then i think i am ok.

Thanks you very much

Under 1% isn't enough of an issue to worry about.

You are ALWAYS going to have occasional shares rejected 'cause someone else found it just before you did and sent it in first, due to Internet Latency.

Higher latency = more "stale" shares lost like this.

As a general rule of thumb - you should anticipate your "stales" rate being in the ballpark of "your latency / time between blocks".

Also keep in mind that the latency depends on the pool side as well - a pool suffering a DDOS attack will see it's latency go up as a result, sometimes by a LOT.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Luckily there aren't too many dropped shares, but if you want to improve it, either ensure the ping / bandwidth for your miner is sufficiently low, and that the pool you are mining to has an endpoint geographically near you. (Now that I look at it, pretty much what the above people said lol). Good luck!
