I think you mean wallet as in across all platforms including web and desktop and cold storage?

To keep bitcoin safe, obviously the answer would be a hardware wallet like Trezor.

No such thing as avoiding high transaction fee, more inputs = bigger tx size = more fees paid. The sats/byte you pay depends solely on the mempool, if the network is not saturated , you can pretty much pay super low sats/byte, but as mempool is stuck and lots of txes like now, and block has fixed tx mined = high sats/byte fees

I see you have listed a lot of online wallets. You should know that online wallets are not the best options and not totally safe. You won't have full control over your wallets. If the site goes down, so does your access to wallets. Hackers might get into your wallet. So for me storing my bitcoins on online wallets is a total NO. But for storing smaller amount you can use online wallets, since you can access them from any place.

If you are referring for safety of your coins I much recommend desktop wallets, from the poll you made with core and electrum but obviously I chose  electrum as what my recommendations to other users too. For mobiles the best is mycelium wallet. And if you choosing to avoid high tx fee, then I will suggest that avoid receiving dust amounts because its the cause of higher tx fee once you made a transaction.

So far I only used 2 wallets xapo and blockchain but I downloaded bitcoin core already. And if you are avoiding the high transaction fee, I guess all of them are included with it and they need to charge every transactions for it. Remember blockchain is not charging fees before and as well as xapo but they did adjust with it.

For security, I'd have a paper wallet.  The best way to go is usually to expose it to the Internet as little as possible.

I'd say that the convenience of a TREZOR is very competitive.  They market it to newer users and you can use it with other wallets which are also convenient, like Electrum.

Blockchain is far less convenient than a TREZOR because you have to spend most of your time figuring out what fees to pay with their crap estimation.

To be honest I don't like hardware wallets as they are expensive, all you need is the knowledge how to keep your bitcoins safe.

 if you are looking to use only bitcoin I'll go for Electrum as it is simple to use and it enable a lot of features.
 Of course if you want you can run bitcoin core, but it needs more than 100GB of free space and will take it up on more on your computer over time.


Don't use online wallets that doesn't enable you to see your private keys as you then don't own your coins, instead you are trusting 3rd party, so only when you need to use it.

Xapo gives convenience to transfer to another Xapo user with 0 fee and instant, but they ask for your personal details same as Coinbase. Another thing is that they don't give you access to your private keys.

- To save fees : saving in fees will make your transaction stucked for days so I prefer to set my fee manually in electrum
- Electrum gives you full control over your bitcoin and your wallet information never leaves your computer/mobile.

So best wallet for me right now is Electrum.

About security purpose I would like to suggest you use some professional offline wallet like other professional ppl. As private keys are maintained in a secure offline environment on the hardware wallet, rest of the online wallet user worried about because of hacking or spamming. Finally, it's all based on your needs.

Electrum have now dynamic fees which most of the wallets don't, that should allow you to change the fees whenever you want to and can be helpful (In the current situation for example where we have thousands of unconfirmed transaction and high fees). Mycelium "Priority" option should give you the faster confirmation as well, both of the wallets can be recover from a seed/passphrase In case you lost access to your PC/phone. As for security, I'd go with a Ledger nano S anytime.

For cold storage? Sure. But you want to be careful with paper, say your house gets flooded or burns down, and it's lost. Trezor is a good middle point because of what you said, physical vs cyber security. Assuming you have enough coins to eat the initial investment in one, that is.

This is a discussion about web wallet, I'm currently use 4 web wallet (coinbase, blockchain, blocktrail and the xapo), I think the best wallet is blockchain. When Xapo free for receive and send, I select Xapo.

Then for users that take security as their top priority, a paper wallet or desktop wallet should serve their needs well.

If there is a best wallet than cover all means, then we must have one majority answer here. Basically any wallets from different platforms have it's different features to others. There are also advantage of using online wallet that is not present on offline wallets, and same with vice versa. So the one who can say who is the best is ourself based on experiencing using it.

And no, wallets are nothing to do to avoud transactions fees. If by luck, you saw some online wallets covering the fees up to today then good but today I think none.

this question is seriously wrong!
because any of the many wallets currently existing can be very good and very bad at the same time.

wallets like Coinbase and Xapo which are centralized and don't give you your private keys are bad because you have no control over your money and only have an account with them. but it is good for beginners who want to avoid all the technical details and are too lazy to learn anything about bitcoin and using it! also it is good to buy and store bitcoin in same place.

the web wallets such as blockchain.info gives the user access and control over the private keys but don't offer much options like RBF, CPFP, setting fees appropriately,... and are risky because of being online but at the same time they are convenient to use

the full verification wallets such as Core and Armory are good if you don't want to rely on anybody else for your tx verifications,... but it takes up space and needs a good internet connection. and obviously you can no longer be lazy and not learn more about how it works.

the Simplified Verification wallets (SPV) such as Electrum and Multibit are lacking the full verification benefits but are not taking up much space and can be used by people with low HDD space or slow internet speed or low cap. the options they offer may vary, for instance eletrum offers more options for advanced usage while Multibit keeps things as simple as possible.

in short you can't really say which wallet is better than others. depending on you and your usage they can be very suitable or far from it.
