in countries with a welfare state this would work out to be way cheaper. i know people on welfare who live lives that people with good jobs can't afford. it's madness that it's come to this. something like this looks radical on the surface, but it levels the playing field.

They will just print banknotes without any limit. In the end, fiat currency will lose its value, and people will indulge in barter trade using commodities such as Bitcoin and Gold. Universal Basic Income is a good idea, but it can never be implemented.

The only system that can create this is crypto currencies system. I told my friend that crypto currencies create equality between the rich and the poor, between developed countries and underdeveloped currencies and between amateurs and professional. He is giving guys an inspirational talked in the commencement exercise and all he can said is "Free Money for Everyone".? LOL. How can you pursue you dreams of becoming big after college when Zuckerberg is talking about free money.

Look at Steve Jobs commencement speech at Stanford 2005 and you will be amazed and be inspired. "You've got to find what you love," Jobs says. That's what I'm talking about. Maybe Mark Zuckerberg has too much money in his hands that's why he jus thought of "Universal Basic Income," as his theme in his speech.

Because it takes strong motivation to work on your "dream" and with free money you'll be lazy and when you're lazy you can never achieve anything.
 

Perhaps he believes what he says, and has started a private program with a few dozen people, to use his wealth with them as he says. Of course, the people might copy him down to the last detail, and overthrow his operation with operations of their own. So I doubt he is doing this with more than 1 or 2 close friends who have pledged themselves to be on his side.

Human nature, with very few exceptions, wants more. Give a worker a partial free salary, and he won't need to produce as much. So, he will cut his days or hours back, and do more fishing.

His boss will have to get someone in to replace the hours or days he cut back. Then that guy will be given a partial free salary, and the cycle will continue.

This could be the way to gradually replace jobs with robots, until the robots did everything for us, and we had freedom to do anything that we wanted, and collected a free salary a hundred times greater than anything we earn now.

The problem with the robot idea is, robots haven't been developed that are expertise enough to handle much of anything. It will take time, especially to make robots that can repair themselves, and do the whole process of mining the raw materials, to making the finished product.

Odds are WW3 will destroy most of us before anything like the robot idea or free money idea can be pushed all the way through society.
