I don't think so it will work  free money means the decrease in the value of money and so the trading and business will also go down. I just want to say not a good idea by MARK.

That is exactly what is going to happen. Once the supply of money increases, hyperinflation will follow and the prices of essential commodities will shoot up. The local currency will undergo devaluation, similar to what happened with the Venezuelan Bolivar.

The one possible scenario that might work is if people all get free money a little bit at a time. As they get their free money, if they want to work less, and if robots take up the slack, we might finally end up with full pay, and robots doing all the work for free. Of course, this would have to be implemented slowly, a little at a time.

If it's really working, then people did get the money, just like you said, they will work less or maybe not even go to work, and worst scenario quit their daily job. It's not wrong, I admit that. Well yeah, but, you know what, when that time happens, will human be able to do their job like they usually did before robots takes over our everyday works? I don't think that's a good idea either.

then what happens is if a women has another baby you go to the data base and because you got the
child's DNA and the mothers DNA and the fathers DNA you will know if they have had more than 2 children..So that 3 rd child will not get a universal income..IT'S YOUR FAULT ..You knew the law..

You don't get the universal income until your 18 if in work 21 years old if in university ..

But your DNA is on the data base ready to pay you when you reach 18 if in work or 21 if in university..

Plus if you ever do a CRIME    everyone has got there DNA on a data base so can easy be caught ..

Keeps the planet low and 2 children is enough ..You can have more but they don't get a universal income if you have more than 2..

But if you make it in life who cares you would have as many as you like..
And also most humans could pursue there dreams and with practice because they will have the time
we will get better what ever..Because more time to practise makes you better at what ever you do..

How can we avail of those free money. I hope I was there so I can also get free money from Zuckerberg. But seriously his ideas are very perceptive as he is thinking to increase the productivity of the youth. Sometimes what limits our creativity are the lack of resources and funding for any projects that we want to accomplish.  Hope those youth that will receive free money will become productive.

I really can't complain. As someone who as experienced a certain period of what we can consider as "being poor", I don't see any drawbacks from where I am standing. (It's unlikely to happen in my country though)

I like the idea that one of the prerequisites is that you need to be of good moral standing with the community. And that there's still some exchange of service that you have to provide.

But it's easier said than done. Things like these take allot of process and people to actualize. It's a nice idea in my opinion - just a nice idea.

Many people would consider Zuck's handouts as benefits that were received, and could be the process for forced controlling of our lives by Government.

If I authorize usage of "my" SSN by one of my other person's, who is the one who accepts the free money, then Government doesn't control me, but only that person.

Would I feel guilty about accepting money Government sucked off of other people and gave to my person designated? Probably not. They simply didn't think about how they could have drawn up a new person, and let it be the one controlled by government, like I did, while it turns the funds it receives over to me, the man.

So what about people who make money do they stop if they get a certain amount?..

Like the benefit system most would work on the side meaning work while claiming YES against the law it's why so many sit around..

But in the 1970s and 80s 90s many many worked and the sly because it was much easier to get away with..
But with a universal income you will still be able to get any job you want and still keep your universal income..

The ones that sit around on the benefits are the ones scared in case they loose that benefit if they get caught working..
So the government create lazy people..

Instead of saying everyone can keep the money then you watch the amount of people get off the BUMS..
Everyone likes more money we humans love to move and mix with people it's what we do..

Many many worked on the side in the 1970s Why because if wages are not to good you get benefits on top to pay rent and food giving you that little bit extra to buy your children good birthdays and Christmas presents and make them look good in clothes..

Its not about being optimistic or not for the future. Its about predicting fall out of game changing events. For example nuclear weapons while considered horrible by public - were effective deterrent of another world war by assurance of mutual destruction.

Similar unintended side effect might come with basic income, so it is very short sighted to be simply fan of it for the sake of "progress". What are the DOWNSIDES? Unless somebody here is able to quantify those and simulate its effects on future generation, then its prudent to stay cautious.

Because America is not the United Arab Emirates. In America there is another culture, there is the capitalism which they want at all costs to prevail and I agree with that but only at a degree where people can go home right after their 8 hour shift turn. Bosses in America are different, they want to use their employees to their last drop of sweat, different in United Arab Emirates, they don't even work 8 hours because of the weather, when it is too hot they only work 2-3 hours a day. This stimulus the United Arab Emirates has been doing since some years now, has brought its benefits. Their welfare has increased much more than that of an American citizen. Why can't the world be a better place ? Probably because of greed in human beings.

What Zuckenberg is trying to do is just to attire attention now that the facebook shares are going down. It won't work.
