There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Does anyone have a link that gives you step by step what to input into the wallet in order to mine CNC?

Once it will be up I will need someone from here to quote my post on other forums, since I'm only a newbie I cannot post on Alternative Currency thread, yet.

Cakepie, I'll gladly join your pool. (I don't have much to offer in terms of computing power, I just wanna get my hands dirty to see what mining is all about) but could you give me some instructions on how to make sure I've set up everything correctly?

I had never heard of CNC..interesting. There are so many alt coins. Some of them like feathercoin really take off hard and fast.
