 I believe that an 80% efficient at 100% load power supply rated at 1000W can pull 1250W at the wall and burn 250W of that in wasted heat energy while supplying the 1000W it is rated to supply to components. A 90% efficiency at 100% load could pull up to 1111W at the wall while supplying 1000W to components. These are general numbers not exact for any given power supply.
