Is my Mhash/s Good?

Just wondering if an average of 39.8 Mhash/s is good...and is there any way to improve it? GPU- AMD Radeon HD 7640G with 512 MBytes memory. Tried running off of processor...not to well, 2 Mhash/s

From the looks of it it seems you are mining from a laptop.

If you already leave your laptop on 24/7 and mine when you are not using it, why not. However, the overall hashrate of 39 Mhash/s isn't that great compared to a desktop graphics card.

But as what soulmann said, it wouldn't be profitable at all unless you have free electricity. You would be looking at about $6 a month with that setup (Calculator here: http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator )

39Mh/s is only giving you return of ~$0.25 per day, so it's probably not worth it.

Possibly never. As difficulty rises it'll reach a point where mining isn't profitably, when electricity costs exceed your bitcoin return. Try a mining calculator (http://dev.bitcoinx.com/profit/) with your electricity costs, mh/s, and projected difficulty levels.

It's not great. I started out at 200MH/s with a low-end ATI and that was slow then. Mining is beginning to be really questionable unless you have an in on having an Asic. And that's a minefield in itself.

I think it's relevant, because if he has free electricity, then his has rate is fine because he will make money no matter what. However, if he doesn't than it is not a good hash rate because he will probably spend more in electricity that he will get for that.

However, honestly, 40mh/s is nothing in the overall scheme of things (though still better than nothing), and if you wanted real profits you should get a higher level amd.

Use the hardware comparison to get a general idea of what is possible. Keep in mind that each card is not the same. Depending on the brand, cooling setup, quality of batch you have, and your ability to overclock you will be able to push your MHash/sec somewhere between stock and the highest achieved stable on that list.
