Ripple is part of my portfolio and lately it showed some great promise of being one of the stable and valuable altcoin there is. Though of course, the market is right now hemorrhaging but many analysts are painting a colorful future for Ripple. It has a good community supporting the coin and it has a good team of developers and managers all working to make sure that Ripple reached its full potential. There is no reason why this should not be added into your list.

no general populace will have the slightest clue what it is. most people on here don't understand what it is.

you'll make plenty of money trading it to the clueless and greedy so go for it.

Ripple is only hot at the moment cause it's pumping hard and because of the recent bubble. Once hype dies out it will fall into obscurity. Also heard that the consortium of banks behind it is falling apart with each of them wanting to create their own coin.

I see no big problem in adding it to your exchange though. I don't think exchanges are in the position to lose anything by a move like this. Certainly Polo don't seem to care, so it can't be that dangerous.

I am not sure what to make of ripple. It feels like an investment scheme to me. I get the feeling that it's backer - investment banks - would dump them on the market at some point in time.

Some even say it isn't a currency/coin like bitcoin. It may have potential for growth, but it's centralized nature is a disadvantage.

The main reason is usually that I don't want to be forced to accept changes made by an owner/operator of a system whose interest may be averse to mine.

I'd say invest in NEM/XEM instead.  Not only is it trading at a fraction of the market cap, most of the development is Japan focused which is a good thing. With Mijin and Catapult on the way the tech looks to be among the most promising in the crypto space. This is Ripple's primary competitor, and it's coming along great.

http://mijin.io/en/about-mijin

The name Mijin comes from a ninja weapon made from 3 chains that would tear an enemy apart into tiny piece. Mijin similarly destroys the cost of conventional infrastructure.

Yes, I see there is strong growth in XRP because of already many Japan banks and some Indian banks showing interest towards ripple. But anything happens you have to risk because no one will predict exact growth in it. Because many experts are holding it for the long term.

Its' realistic value is zero but people keep coming back for more. It will keep going up and down until people realize it has no value. Short term trade it if your good.

It will definitely be a worthy addition to your exchange, it has a big userbase now and as a crypto currency, I feel it definitely has the potential to stay in top 3-5 for a long time now. And a lot predictions and analysis does make out that its gonna be a prosperous journey ahead for Ripple and its investors.

Rumors are everywhere if you look for the credibility of XRP, it is indeed a good project at first, but ever since it was centralized, more people are pulling out their money with this coin, but anyway, it is your friend in business if you wanted to add it in your exchange. The power of XRP is still in the market cap.

Absolutely, but not right now. The price has already gone up as much it has to. Now you can only wait for the price to fall before investing again. Right now I see it as penny stocks with a chance in future to invest into it.
