I first tried to do a transaction with a low fee, which from what I could tell was rejected because the transaction disappeared from my wallet. After that I tried doing the transaction again with the recommend fee, yet it still says the fee I paid was too low. Is there anything I can do, or is the waiting game my only option?

That means your transaction is trying to spend coins that were already spent in a previous transaction. What wallet software or service sent your transaction?

It would help us understand the problem better if you could post your transaction's ID, but I can understand if you want to keep it private.

How are you using an ethereum wallet and are making Bitcoin transactions? Ethereum is a completely different cryptocurrency.

Did you mean to say Electrum?
