Would it be awesome if we have a rap battle between Satoshi Nakamoto and Ben Bernanke over whom monentary system is the best?  Cheesy

Receptionist: Welcome to the FEE conference on Austrian Economic.
Bernanke: Tell those Austrian crazies that I have arrived!
Nakamoto: And tell the Austrians that I have come to counter Bernanke and his shenanigans.
Receptionist: (looks to Nakamoto)...who are you?
Nakamoto: I am a cryptography researcher who invented a new kind of money called....BITCOIN!

This is so ridiculous!  I get the impression that Nakamoto is a very quite and reserved person.  I only hope that he knew what he was getting into when he made bitcoin.  Being portrayed as a comic superhero, or rapper, is just part of the job I guess.

One off NP-Hard.

Eh? I thought it was a long established tradition to turn economists into rappers?

Step 1: Create world's first cryptographic, pseudonymous, peer-to-peer currency.

Step 2: Be quiet and reserved, while gradually improving the code.

Step 3: As time passes, and the currency grows, respect for you will grow, and people will slowly start to revere you.  Slowly by slowly, people start making fantasies and legends about you.

The End: You are now a comic superhero rapping economist.

It only sounds ridiculous if you haven't seen the awesome reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0nERTFo-Sk

As for Satoshi, I think he was well aware of the revolutionary nature of Bitcoin. I don't think he is shy at all, he just chooses to remain low-profile because he figures that the first thing the media will do when Bitcoin becomes more popular is try to discredit its author, kinda like Wikileaks and Julian Assange. Also there is no need for him to venture outside the technical development and discussion as other people have eagerly taken over the jobs of community building, project development, economic discussion, etc.

Might as well write a rap:

This is revised, short introduction.

Receptionist: Welcome to the FEE conference on Austrian Economic.
Bernanke: Tell those Austrian crazies that I have arrived!
Nakamoto: And tell the Austrians that I have the solution
Receptionist: (looks to Nakamoto)...who are you?
Nakamoto: I invented a cryptocurrency called....BITCOIN!

.....on the speaker stage.....

Yeah, we oppose each other, economically
Battle for economic domination.
From the opposite side of the world

HAHA!!!  You have fooled me!  You are playing on our deepest secret desires for super-hot Japanese coder chicks.  I want it to be true, but I know it can't be...
