Transaction stuck (due to low fee)

Hi,

My transaction got stuck, I think because of a low fee (.0001). I was using an older version of Multibit Classic and could not adjust the fee. I know (now) it is stupid to use such a low fee.

Multibit says "Seen by 5 peers. Pending/unconfirmed.".

Transaction was on May, 25, tx is: 22933f7d0b733792e8cfa6e1d57fef039c192fcb52355c0caacaf86cde0c1d28

Will this eventually show up in my wallet again? Do I need to close Multibit to avoid rebroadcasting?

Hi,

With a fee of 10K sats it is eligible to viabtc but unfortunately I can't find your transaction in any block explorers (blockchain.info, blocktrail, blockr.io, blockcypher, btc.com, blockexplorer.com)

I can think of two reasons on is this happening:
1). The nodes have already dropped your transaction
2). Wrong TXID

Kindly check the TXID that you've provided and if the bitcoins have come back to the sending address .

Thanks for answering. TXID is correct, but I could not find the transaction either. This is the full info from Multibit:

The transaction looks like it has successfully dropped. At this point, you have one of two options.

1. You can try deleting the transaction in MultiBit and then "reset the blockchain and transactions". This should hopefully restore the balance correctly in your wallet.
or
2. Export your private keys from MultiBit and then sweep (or import) them into another wallet.

I would recommend Option 2, as MBClassic is old, outdated and no longer maintained or developed. Even the most "recent" version 0.5.18 is old and outdated and has a broken fee system, so any transaction you try and send at the moment is likely to get stuck due to low fees.

As for another wallet to use, I would recommend sweeping your coins into Electrum. You can create an old style, "private key" only wallet in Electrum and import the keys if you don't want to sweep them, but you lose the security of having the "seed word" backup and other HD wallet benefits.

Thanks! I sweeped the privated keys into Electrum and the full amount showed up.
