ZebPay wants me to pay fees of 5000 bits to send 0.12 BTC to a friend, is this realistic?

That's ridiculously high.. I too have noticed them over-charge fee. The standard fee (as of today) is around 200sat/B

ZebPay FORCES us to pay fees, they don't allow us to customize fees. And their default fees is so high. I've been able to do 1BTC + transactions for just 900 bits - I don't understand why Zebpay is charging 5-10 times more than international exchanges / wallets. Perhaps they don't want coins to leave their system so they can keep capitalizing on the Rs. 5000 - Rs. 25000 spread they keep between buying and selling prices.

Completely stupid, someone should tell them that bitcoin fees depend on the txn size and not txn amount like they are doing in the app. Perhaps they are using it as a way to stop people from withdrawing bitcoins from their app as they may be loosing users or already lost money due to recent price fluctuations and trying to extort it back out of their users.

Not sure why are they overcharging as previously I had not heard any such thing about Zebpay. Do they actually require such a high fees in order to transfer btc or they are just overcharging users due to high demand? This actually can impact them too .

All exchanges adjusted their fees because of the sudden price increase so I hope you understand it.

That is not true
COinsecure still allows you to manually put the fees you want to pay.
And cause of the price increase the fees in bitcoins shouldn't change. Only the fees in fiat should change.

Well that actually is high. Zebpay, if wants to be a true wallet should allow its users to control their addresses and let them manage their own fee. 5000bits is extremely high for someone who wants the tx to go through slowly.

That's way high. Coinsecure charge 0.0001 bits. Another thing on Zebpay is that minimum deposit is Rs. 5000.

I don't think they are going to give access to the keys (ever), but they should definitely give an option to let the customer decide their own fee. (Along with some suggested fee options for newbies.)

Coinsecure should increase the withdrawal fee as 0.0001 is a bit low.

Boycott Zebpay until they change their network fees structure.
Else they will continue doing so.

I like coinsecure for its low price but you have to buy minimum 0.01 btc.

I feel zebpay is not a true exchange and is only cashing upon the deposits that the customers have made and using their platform to sell there very own bitcoins

coinsecure does feel like an honest exchange though  , but as Indian our options are very limited

Thats totally true. Zebpay fees are high so i just use blockchain because its easy to customise the fees.
Hope zebpay brings down their network fees in the near future
