This gives some insight of how things are evolving at an incredible rate, some will says even exponentially. Given all the progress that has been done we can easily conclude that currencies will also innevitabely also change over time , Bitcoin being a real kickstarter of it.

The roadmap isn't clear yet, but chances are we are going toward digitally and tech driven currencies ( decentralized or not , I can't say ) We can't see the future, but if you think things of today won't change, you should reconsider your point of view.

Feel free to use this thread to give your insights on how currencies might be in 100 years from now.

Very interesting. Seriously, it's hard to imagine what it would be like 10 years from now, not to mention 100 years. The way technology is changing and advancing.. just a breakthrough in some specific sectors will lead the world in a different direction. So, I don't know man..

Quote
230 murders reported in the entire USA

Shows there were probably many more unreported murders than today.
Quote
two out of ten adults could not read or write
There are plenty of places where this is normal to this day, especially among migrants.
Quote
Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country
Wonder how they checked if a person is rich or poor. Any poor guy can pull his resources and make himself look presentable for the customs officers.
Quote
Most women only washed their hair once a month
That's probably an exaggeration, but it brings to my mind how wrong Hollywood portrays women from back then. They always show them as perfectly clean with spotless clothing while in reality hygiene back then was not what we're used to today.

The American flag had 45 stars.
Ah, yes. Few people today remember the Great Flagmakers' Strike of 1912, in protest of the number of states increasing faster than anyone could keep up. As a result, many people had to make do with outdated flags, with flags showing the correct 48 stars being in very short supply, even for years afterwards. Roll Eyes

That was we know, and then what will be it is not. It is possible only to suppose as be in the future. Development of technologies and progress in everything it is a strong thing that will change our world. Whether we will live so long to it or no, it is a completely another question.

That's really interesting.  Things do change very quickly and in cycles too.  I could say we will be in a new age of enlightenment and be correct if you give or take ten years from the prediction.  The same can be said for a utopia.  In a hundred years you could see another world war and it's recovery.  Many many advances in technology, economic booms and busts, trends would come and go and come back again.  There's really no telling how the world will be then.  I think in the end, the customs will change a little same for traditions, we will have added some new ones, the social world will have changed a lot as far as accepting or rejecting specific groups.  But in the end it will be familiar, because people are just people regardless of the era.

Yeah probably it will be a cashless future, all money being transferred machine to machine without human intervention.

In 100 years from now there will be only crypto currencies and we will spend most of our time in virtual worlds. Probably gold will be worthless, because they will have found a way to create it out of another metal.
Perhaps everything will be golden, because it`s the cheapest metal then.  Grin
Energy will be free.
People will live more than 300 years and then will save a copy of their personality on a chip in a robot.
Mankind will settle on other planets, then on other galaxies.
