I know some people hate cats, but what about you, do you like cats?
If you think the answer is "No", have you ever actually had one?

Cats aren't social animals the way dogs are. They don't feel obliged to you or anything like that because they are not pack animals unlike dogs who see you - the owner as the pack leader and provider of food. A cat is only with you because it suits it.

My grandma who lived in the countryside had a cat. The thing would eat in the morning, then go away and wander the village and its surroundings for an undetermined amount of time. Sometimes it wouldn't come back for days. One day the cat went on it's way and didn't come back. It's possible it died somewhere, but I like to think that it just found a new home and stayed there. I've seen it happen.

I think they also need some companionship, but not as much as dogs do.

Cats don´t welcome owners, they are the owners and people are their guests.

I lock my cat in the other room when I go to sleep. I love the little kitty, but she does sometimes attack me for no reason whatsoever. Vets have no idea what's wrong either. So I just keep her away when I go to sleep, cause I don't want to wake up with claws scratching my face.

If you have them as kittens and treat them well, then a cat will almost always grow up to be really nice.

I really love cats. Before I thought I will never love one due to its independent nature unlike dogs, who are really dependent on you. But when I am given a really cute feline I realize, they are so adorable. My cat is trained to defecate on our comfort room and loves to hide on boxes and paper bags, scared of cucumber and loves to wander.

Cats are cute and I like them but that welcome home video sure looked staged. lol.. most cats don't bother other than the quick look a meow and then turn away.

Now my puppy.. when I get home he goes ballistic. Running around in circles jumping up on me and completely out of control due to the joy of seeing is master again. No comparison. sorry..

I love my puppy.

I do like cats, and i think that cat is great pet to have. It is a lot more cleaner than dog, and it is more elegant, but that is my opinion tho. I had never own a cat, because my family do not like them. But i hope that one day in the future i will have cat as a pet. I do not know much about having cat, but i think that there is not much that person need to know for basic, to have a cat as a pet.

They can be loving creatures indeed and forgiving too. My aunt had a cat once and she loved her very much. This was a very smart cat. It had learned how to open doors around the house and even the oven. You'd find her crawled inside sometimes a while after a meal is cooked especially during the winter months, when it got very cold.

Once my aunt had come home with her walking cane and a mouse ran through the room. She got startled and tried to hit the mouse with her cane, but instead hit her cat which had jumped out of nowhere chasing the mouse.

After the accident the poor thing lost its left eye. However it survived and lived some 13 years in the end-quite a long life for a cat. It never seemed to seek vengeance or hold a grudge against her owner, actually nothing changed after this unfortunate accident.
