I'm a CS:GO player for almost year and played Counter-Strike since 1.4. I always liked doing headshots. But most important on what I focused was always teamwork and skill, not skins. I have Karambit knife. I was playing in 3 hour sessions 3 times in week. I have LEM rank as of now. But every time I need to turn off the game, I'm missing headshots. I had bought Counter-Strike and Headshot phone bumper and wall sticker to be sticked on gaming room from here to fill up my addiction of headshots:
https://www.apexstickers.co.uk/products/as10202/
I'm social person and I'm not aggresive. But when I play chess and my knight get killed or I kill knight, I think about headshot because it's only chess piece with head taking most part of piece. Sometimes at school I hit the classmates head with my hand. But I'm doing it lightly. I play on Computer Science Counter-Strike 1.6, that's better than nothing but still worser version than playing GO. Once I got F from playing CS when we should do programming. Once per week, I see Headshot logo and me doing headshots when I fall asleep. Once per day I see Headshot hallucination in real life. It can be logo, it can be teammate or opponent being killed with headshot. I have Headshot sound on phone as notification sound. I love watching HEADSHOT 1 and 2 YouTube CS 1.6 classic movies.
Please help me get out of headshot addiction.

Fellow CSGO player here, I was DMG when I played. Hmm, yours sounds kinda like an unhealthy addiction, but I think it will pass with time. I used to be passionate about CS too and I've played since the days of 1.5, but now I don't really feel it as something vital to my life. I just play once or twice a week, only if somebody asks me to. I think you'll get bored with it too eventually.

You can also try to replace that addiction of yours with something more healthy, like getting addicted to making money for example.

Yes I'm addicted to social media (mainly bitcointalk not Facebook), but headshot addicion is stronger than this. I think social media addiction will replace headshot addiction.

There's nothing that much wrong in getting addicted to a video game anyway. It's much better than having a drug addiction. Just be careful not to let your addiction to virtual headshots become an addiction to real life headshots. The two things don't have that much in common anyway, you can see plenty of ISIS videos with people getting shot in the head. Pretty gross if you ask me.

You need quite a lot of skill and accuracy to get headshot. So I guess it improves your gameplay.

I have >85% headshot ratio this is why I'm addicted.

I know what you mean about the headshots. Every time I get one I'm like woohooo!! jump up with hands in the air. Its exciting because its not easy. My headshot ratio is more like 10% but I don't play often enough to get good at it.

For me it isn't that gross. For me jail is more gross.

Try another method to beast & crush, like frag kills or mine kills or frag headshots? Or just own it and love it! As long as the rest of your life is not suffering from it. Be the headshot king, make your addiction positive and empowering.

To actually overcome the addiction if you desire, along with most any other psychological addiction, check out some NLP techniques free on the web/youtube. These exercises can allow you to control what you want to obsess about and feel the way you want to feel, all within reason of course. It's all about recognizing when you are caught up in a thought/feeling you don't want, then to purposefully stop it and change it in your mind. It seems impossible because that is what addiction is, if it were easy to stop or change then people wouldn't have the problems. But by practicing these techniques, you are building a mental "muscle" to help you
stop/change the thoughts whenever you want. Like anything else in life, it takes determination and practice and patience and faith(doesn't have to be religious, just a strong belief that what you are doing will work).

Good luck with your efforts. Number one rule: Only adjust yourself if you or someone else are actually suffering from it. Otherwise, embrace it.
