Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding the connection of the 7th GPU on an EVGA g2 1300 PSU.
Since only 6 VGA cables/pcie slots are present, can I use the spare CPU cable/slot to power the card?

Trying to be the smart one? That is exactly why i posted over here. I have even seen some diagrams of people using the CPU port to power the 7th gpu on the EVGA. Also, I know EVGA has some proprietary cables, and I am not sure if finding an answer for a specific PSU brand, would apply for EVGA too. So next time, if you have something to contribute with, please do. If not, I can google it myself.

I think I saw someone manage to put 10 cpu on a system with that same PSU connecting all the cards. Some where coming out of the case. But still they worked. Stabily? Well that is another story.

I think I saw someone manage to put 10 cpu on a system with that same PSU connecting all the cards. Some where coming out of the case. But still they worked. Stabily? Well that is another story. Would it be wise to split one VGA port and use it to power 2 cards? Certainly not wise but you could contact them and buy some more 8+6 cables fairly cheaply. That's what I did.

Are you using 4xx or 5xx GPUs?
I basically just asked the same question regarding a 1200W PSU and have ordered a 1300W PSU but now it looks like it will be underpowered as well. One of the responses on my thread was to use two 750W PSUs joined. But I'm so iffy on doing that.

Yes I am using 5xx I'm not familiar with AMD hardware so take my comments with a grain of salt, but: Assuming you use RX 570's, each of them only require one 8 pin connector: 6x8 is a given and the rest can be plugged in with the likely provided 2x6 into 1x8 ping merging cables. BUT, there's a reason why so many cables are on any give PSU. Let's assume each 570 uses 170 watts based on a guru3d review, so it's 1190+70 watts for the rest of the PC is 1260 watts which means an 1300 watt PSU far from enough for 0-24 load. And 580's are eating way more (8+6 ping). You either need fewer cards, a bigger PSU or multiple PSUs.

That's crazy. I have 4 x AORUS 1080 Ti (4*300 watts=1200W) on one of those PSUs and at around 100% power target some cards will turn off with an error. Not a regulat driver crash error which you can come back from with driver reset, but one similar when you pull the 6/8 pin off the card mid running and you have to restart to fix it. If I don't run all 4 cards at once or if I run them at lower power target they're working fine for days. And to add an additional 2 x 180 watts? Unless you're heavily reducing the power target there's no way they're all running off of a single 1300 watts PSU, not even if they're founders edition. I can only think of a couple algos that would use so little electricity that they could work at 100%.

no you can't, you must use the molex two 8 pin or 6 pin connector that come with the gpu and connected it with the slot used for hdd, but use two of these or they will be overwhelmed

Yeah, that is what I was thinking about aswell. Do you rung this setup? Any idea where to get some higher quality ones?

I am still looknig for a board that can handle 10 gpu's stablily.
Have been looking at the Msi some one posted on another thread which can handle 7 gpus not a problem but don't want to spend the money to buy it then find out it can not handle up to 10 gpus if I want to add on more cards later.
