That day when bitcoin hits 50,000, and this topic wil be replied and honored by the new folks whom are new to Bitcoin by then, the day when multiple countries have the coin in use in shops and services, the day when you get paid 0.05 BTC a month for a fulltime job, what will you do with your precious coins? when this appears on your screen...
$50,023(+0.12%) 1 BTC
Will you hold them with the knowledge of becoming a millionaire, or a multi-multi millionaire? Or wil you find it enough and trade some or most of your precious, precious coins for money to buy something really big, or use it to start up your own big company?
For me, I will keep them. I might only sell a tiny bit if I would like to make a purchase of something, but for the rest I would keep all the coins knowing that 50,000.- is just the start of a new beginning (just like 2017's 2700 compared to 2014's 200.- already)
I am curious what you will do that day, when this post gets replied and all those people wish they started in the time that we did. The day when you, me and all other Bitcoin buyers basically have won the lottery, what will you do?
I really wish this could happen. And i think it will happen. Because every single fiat currency that have existed have collapsed - no one has escaped this. Not even the United States. Look at the 1800s. Fiat was worthless even the US. And obviously when France was a superpower there was a genius which i won't name who decided that printing more money would be the end of the country's financial woes. And that failed too. Guess where we are now, in 2017. Look at the expansion in monetary supply after the governments' desperate attempt to rescue the markets after the 2008 crash. Bitcoin is going to be currency. All the holders will be rewarded, in a decade or two. It'll be satisfying to say "i told you so" whilst pointing at that sweet 50000 figure.

If bitcoins value raises as high as $50,000 we should expect less petty payments which makes some altcoins valuable to use for this purpose and maybe I would sell half of my stacked coins in exchange of alts. Hope we live longer to see this day come.

I think that day will not came soon , it is because the value of the Bitcoin is increasing but still the most of the people are saying that we should use other powerful and stable altcoins like ETH that have very small fee in comparison of the Bitcoin fee . So here it may be possible that either the Bitcoin will increase the size of his block or the people will move toward another altcoins to keep himself away from the big charges of fee . So probability are for the both and I think the Bitcoin will make some big changes in his system of block cmsize and limit and in that case we will be able to use Bitcoin as were using in the last year old days with low fees .
This is true because bitcoin currently has no apparently advantages over altcoins such as Ethereum - and it is proven by the markets as the bitcoin dominance in the market has slipped further and further down to around 47% now and stabilising. As you can see Ethereum's market cap has grown considerably and so has ripple's. It is no longer feasible to transfer smaller amounts of cash internationally even with btc because of high tx fees. Sometimes it's cheaper to use Paypal. However if these scaling problems can be resolved then btc will definitely hit $10,000, $50,000. And I can imagine myself just drowning in cash Jokes, i'll probably have to spend my btc on rent

Damn. It's better to leave my mark in here.
HELLO GUYS FROM THE FUTURE!
Also, why would you sell your Bitcoins when they are worth $50k if you can use them anywhere? As you said, every shop accepts bitcoin as a method of payment. No more selling "digital currencies" for the "real money" called Dollar. Bitcoin IS the real money. LONG LIVE BITCOIN!
Btw, imagine if in the future each Bitcoin are actually worth $1m each. We will be laughing about such low value you are predicting...
I guess he somehow got shy and changed the 100 to 50 just being conservative. Dang! Just imanginig it gives me the chills and also a big smile. We are lucky to have been a part of this. They will be in chaos or maybe in a hustle to get some bitcoin because of that while we are just sitting down, relaxing or watching the bitcoin rising every minute.

I would love to see that happened, hopefully I still able to witness that day, because for reaching 50k$ it will still take a lot of time and we still don't know whether bitcoin can reach that number or not, because the bitcoin dominance is decreasing and there is still problem with bitcoin transaction speed
We will gonna witness that they if we are still alive but hopefully price growth of bitcoins will come unto that since im pretty sure that it can create excellent awareness since price can truly appealed to business and huge volume of people, Bitcoins growth are totally amazing nowadays so speculation of those open minded person are truly positive on this thing and I really hope that we can see great sides on this coming years.

We can witness that day if most of the country start to accept bitcoin and give legal status to it, so that all business can start using bitcoin as their payment system. Then surely we can witness more then that price,

most of the popele waiting for bitcoin to skyrocket and hits these high value, will be the oen that will sell way before it actually hits that, i doubt many of use can hold past the $10k mark
you will be very tempted to sell, because at that point you are reach already, and for that value one must wait a decade+ at least...
As suppy and demand increasing on bitcoin, It will be continuously move towards the skyrocket value for sure. Along with the demand, Adoption and new altcoin creation using blockchain technology will support the bitcoin to grow higher. I think we may this amount in the year 2030 and that time bitcoin is well known to all people even non developed countries will also accepts bitcoin.

Will surely happen, just wait for the time then bitcoin will reach $50,000, a year ago the price not more $400 but it has now reached more than $2200 or ride more than 550%, I expect 10 more years will occur.

Bitcoin will reach a point in which the price would stabilize, at what price it would be is as good as anyone's guess. Right now, we are enjoying all time highs almost on a monthly basis (sometimes even weekly) because the demand is sky high and that more people are becoming interested in making investments that are protected from the pitfalls of their local currencies. But once bitcoin becomes more mature, I am sure the price would have stabilized with very few to little fluctuations in a month. It would be boring to watch the price by then but if it becomes more usable, with lower transaction fees, I would be happier with that scenario where it would be able to serve more people efficiently.

I would happily use my saved bitcoin and enjoy the patience and hardship I made waiting for it to become $50,000. The temptation is not easy when we see the price going up in price before reaching $50,000. Of course I won't be converting my stash in one go. I will save half of it and wait for another target price to cash out.

1 bitcoin value of $50,000 will definitely happen in my opinion but we're not going to see it in the short term. I think we're talking about 10 years before a price like this becomes reality.

in fact everything is possible the price of bitcoin can really reach to 50000$ dollar no doubt about that, but i think it will take decades, and when all the mining will over and then demand will increase more and more, people will hold bitcoin and will even not ready to sell it level on 50000$ in any case. and therefore the price will continue increasing.

Well, if that happens many of the bitcoin holders will become rich because of bitcoin. That is a big amount actually I wish it could be happen, but I think it will take a years before that happen.

Ethereum is increasing in a very fast pace. And it is always changing from time to time. Many investors in ethereum are now taking advantage of this pump and btc is just a normal coin with only the most coin in the web.

3 years ago people were speculating Bitcoin would go from 200 to 2000, look where we are now. People would laugh about such statement, a X10? ridiculous! It already went x2000 back then (from 0.10 to 200) but people thought x10 would be only (a little bit) possible after decades, and it took only 3 years.
When the price reaches 10k im sure a lot of people will sell their Bitcoins, or atleast a portion of it. But the people who will still keep them at 10k will be the smiling third when the price reaches 50k, and even at 50k I will keep most of them and be a part of the small group of people who are eventually the last ones laughing.
If we go back to 2014 when the price was 200, a lot of folks have bailed out at 1k, but who still has a smile on their face? the ones who kept them untill now.
John was very early buying 9 bitcoins for a total sum of around 1000 USD (with an average cost of 111 USD per Bitcoin). He thought it would be a better move then playing Blackjack with it in the Casino. A little bit later after the crash when Gox was hacked, Chris joined the party because he saw that the coins rised to 1150 USD even though the bitcoins were already crashed to 200. He had 1250 USD to spend and he bought 5 coins (with an average cost 0f 250 USD per bitcoin). Later when the coins rised to 1k, John sold his 9 bitcoins because he thought they would crash again. He cashed 10 grand after selling them for around 1100 and thought he made a wise decision. After that, the coin have been rising up to 2700, around a little bit higher then 2000 now. In meanwhile, Chris kept his 5 coins and they are now worth 5 x 2000 = 10 Grand aswell. Chris has still a big smile on his face, he sleeps very well since he made already the same amount that John did and John bailed out, Chris still has his rising coins in his pixel wallet. John by the way started panic buying back at 2000.
This is exactly the reason why I started this topic. There is no 'right price' for the coin. 50 grand is not even the max yet, do not sell them when you don't want to end up like John, buying back 50% of your coins, or even worse, not buying them back again.
The people who bail at 50 grand will be laughing, and by that i mean extreme laughing, but that will only be for a short term until they see that even then they still couldve get a x10 or perhaps even x20 if the entire world knows about bitcoin.
Many people will indeed sell when the coin becomes really high stake, but they will make the same mistake as those folks who bailed out at the x10 money. They wil be rich, but they could have been way richer. Most of them end up buying 50% or less of the coins back for double or more then double the money.

The price of bitcoin is increasing almost everyday and in years from now the price could go even more higher than the price $500,000. Without a time frame specified $500,000 can be reached.

It's crazy, I think you should look at life face-to-face, do not think in vain. This life is not easy for anyone, and bitcoin is no exception, it will never reach that value.

First of all i like this thread. 50k dollars for 1 bitcoin? so we're gonna like spend satoshis for some cofee in future, sounds interesting, i wish i can pay that cofee with bitcoin directly instead of converting my bitcoin first. Anyway i've been passing 200 dollars, 1k dollars and now 2k dollars all i can say i don't want to repeat the same mistakes, loosing many chances to buy bitcoin when the price was really cheap well i don't have much but i keep buying as much as i can, let's see can we reach 50k each?

Look at this ---> http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/31/bitcoin-price-forecast-hit-100000-in-10-years.html { Bitcoin could hit $100,000 in 10 years, says the analyst who correctly called its $2,000 price } So if they are correct, the Bitcoin price should hit $50 000 in the next 5 years } I doubt if anyone will still hodl past the $10 000 price... The big investors will start buying those coins and we will have a few individuals owning full bitcoins. { The rich will stay rich } We will own a few 1000 satoshis.
