Sean Hannity is making a joke. And he's also generating press for FoxNews and his show.That's really all this tweet is, a publicity stunt. BUT, if Julian Assange did host his show for a day can you imagine the ratings he'd get? Every politically conscious person in the world would be tuning in or reading the news about the show!
I'm a fan of the idea, Julian Assange deserves a bigger forum and it would be so perfectly ironic that it could occur on a platform that is supported predominantly by people that believe Assange should be in jail.
Hannity was serious. He's also acutely aware of ratings impact.
It is ironic that the conservative audience would be in the middle of this. That audience was and largely ignorant of cyber security issues and of Assange's case. Whether they are at this time of the belief that Assange should be jailed, given that he was responsible for publicly releasing the Hillary emails which was instrumental in Trump's win, I have no clue. Could be they still are.
