Is Mining Ethereum still profitable?

Hi,

Is Mining Ethereum still profitable?
And how long will it be profitable?

I want to buy some hardware.

What kind of hardware are you going to buy? Calculate how much money are you investing and check here https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth

I'm reading reviews from people who are doing altcoin mining and they prefer more 480 than 580 so I would suggest that too if you can find (at a cheap price)

Also 470 are good too but are very rare in the market as the companies are not producing anymore this series 470/480.

Thank you...

With $1500,- what can I buy?
Can you make an example what the profit is?
I'm really new to mining hardware.

I'm really new to mining hardware.

Maybe increasing a little bit the budget you can get good hardware, please read this awesome article http://1stminingrig.com/best-mining-rig-hardware-mine-2017/

Be sure that some stuff isn't available because the mining is getting trending and people are trying to buy everywhere where they see GPUs Tongue

The hash rate goes from 21 - 29 Mh/s so  * 6 = $674 - $930 monthly (without calculating electricity).

The problem you will run into is getting the GPU's.   I have been watching a little on 570/580... it's pretty impossible to get the amount I want at decent price currently.  Had me looking at Nvidia some... but not sure I want to go that way yet.

*Edit also the motherboard the list works great.  But again problem is just getting one at decent price.  This at least only 1 per rig and can take a little hit on price.  If you pay over retail on 6 GPU's or so it will really add up and hurt ROI.

Isn't Ethereum switching to POS?

Are you sure you have enough time to ROI?

When, how and why? From my calculation there is around 3-4 months to make the ROI depending on how much the other hardware (not GPU) cost.

The problem you will run into is getting the GPU's.   I have been watching a little on 570/580... it's pretty impossible to get the amount I want at decent price currently.  Had me looking at Nvidia some... but not sure I want to go that way yet.

I'm not much informed what you can mine with Nvidia but most of the people are interested in AMD Radeon and that's because to mine ETH mostly.

Yeah the motherboard is a very important part of the rig together with the risers and the power supply and a stable internet connection.

Thank you...

I do think that Ehtreum is still profitable but it depends on which hardware you are going to buy and the cost of the electricity over time. You can check here "https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth?HashingPower=960&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=350&CostPerkWh=0.11" if you can profit in your hardware that you are going to buy plus the electricity cost. You can also check here "https://www.bitcoinmining.com/bitcoin-mining-hardware/" but also check the hash rate and power efficiency mostly the best ones are ASICS but depends on which one you going to buy. Of course if you going to buy the highest one you will earn more than those regular ones and if you have free electricity that's a good thing and also if you want to see a real profit you could earn more than a thousands. It depends on what hardware you are using. In my country any altcoin mining are not profitable anymore because the cost of electricity here are higher compared to other countries.
