Postalgia Blockchain

By harnessing the power of blockchain technology, Postalgia aims to create a referral program baked into the blockchain.

This also contributes to marketing the product, by relying on word-of-mouth of our loyal users and advocates, because where else do you look to these days when researching a purchase; well you turn to your friends and social network of course!

Further down the line, we plan to integrate photo storage onto the blockchain, where we can literally make your memories last forever. We can learn from the likes of Factom for their data storage technology, or Siacoin, Storj, and Maidsafe for their storage sharing technology.


Postalgia Token

We believe that the core principles of cryptographic currencies, as Satoshi clearly pointed out in his Bitcoin whitepaper, are decentralization and immutability. As such, we have decided to build the Postalgia token, $POSTA, as an erc20 token secured by the Ethereum Classic network. By doing so, all updates to the ETC network will also be enjoyed on the POSTA network.

Token Allocation & Redemption Details
 
95% supply of total POSTA tokens will be distributed to all participants via the ICO. The remaining 5% will be kept with the Postalgia team as reserves in the development fund.
 
 
At the end of ICO, ETC will be calculated in BTC value according to the Poloniex market price.
 
All POSTA tokens will be distributed proportionally to participants based on their share calculated as above, including bonuses.

Since day one, our sole platform for conducting business was via our Android and iOS mobile apps.
The apps are free to download, and users pay in-app for purchasing physical photo prints and products, which provides a direct revenue stream and immediate monetization model for the business.
 
Therefore it makes sense for us to first focus on improving our core product, these mobile apps, and this will be our highest priority moving forward. Version 2 of the mobile apps and backend engine will enable:
> Access by global users and delivery of physical products worldwide
> New user features such as photo editing and photo filters
> Improved user-friendliness and UI for placing orders,
> Cryptocurrency payments starting with Bitcoin payment integration,
> Improved scalability of platforms,
> Content management system (CMS) to provide flexibility to add multiple new product categories and products
> Vendor management system (VMS) to decentralize production capabilities
 
In order to support the new influx of customers and orders from the global launch, it is also imperative that we improve our production capabilities in parallel to the tech development. Furthermore, we will forge partnerships with several photo production houses to add new product lines and to keep up with production volume.
 
As the next priority, we will be developing our e-commerce website to provide the same services as the mobile apps, but with more features suitable for desktop usage. In addition, we are currently designing a user-generated content marketplace where users will be able to share their photographs and get rewarded when other users use these photos.

Brief History
 
The Postalgia project started out with Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) in the form of an Android and iOS mobile app in 2013. Our goal then was to build a product with the minimum features required for the idea to work, and launch the proof-of-concept only to Singapore users, to take the time to iterate with feedback from customers and improve both the physical and digital products.
 
Since then, we have learnt many valuable lessons about the limitations of our current product, largely in terms of scalability. For example, some problems with the current system include:
> App can only be downloaded for users in Singapore.
> App is restricted and limited to the specified existing product types only.
> Current database built in django with very messy code, a very primitive backend, with occasional bugs occurring in payments and order management.
> Currently product & print production is done in-house.
 
In addition, one of the critical challenges we still face today is the lack of a technical partner, so all development was outsourced and hence costly, and it took a long time for us to push out updates or fix technical problems.
 
 
Roadmap
 
To bring the Postalgia project to the next stage, we have set out the following roadmap as our top priorities moving forward:
> Expand the business to serve an international market
> Expand physical production capability
> Develop version 2 of the app and e-commerce website
> Expand team and find technical partner
> Seek partnership with various complementary services
> Hire full-time staff for 1 year to manage activities such as marketing & sales, technology development, daily operations, production, customer service & community support

What started out as a side project and proof-of-concept has come a long way and now grown into a fully profitable business with over 10,000 registered users, and hundreds of unique monthly users. As the leading online photo printing app in Singapore, our products have gone through drastic improvements, and we can proudly say that our photo prints are made with tip-top quality material and printing technology, and hand-made and hand-packed with love.

Based on the feedback from the users and our understanding of the market, we have planned major changes to our business plan moving forward, as we seek to expand globally beyond the shores of this tiny red dot we call Singapore.

No it will be nothing like MLM, which means Multi-Level-Marketing.

For Postalgia's case, this is for existing users to refer new users to the platform and apps, and to get paid for doing so. There will only be one "level" of payouts.
