Yeah it’s pretty normal for that to happen. Blockchain.info has a bug that makes the balance look like that, I am not that sure if you can spend the money on that account though there was plenty of people that found that bug to be fixed a few days after noticing it.

Yeah it’s pretty normal for that to happen. Blockchain.info has a bug that makes the balance look like that, I am not that sure if you can spend the money on that account though there was plenty of people that found that bug to be fixed a few days after noticing it. The last transaction is 2016-07-05 14:46:22. There is a possibility that it is not in use and regarding the bug maybe it has has not been updated. Also there are two transactions that has been sent with that same amount that is 0.00199614 which the other is an unconfirmed one also this number is identical with the final balance which the only difference is that it has a negative sign at the front: -0.00199614. All the transactions received is 0.20981835 BTC which match the total amount sent with the same value of 0.20981835 BTC that is the unconfirmed being not counted but if we count it it will become negative or the total amount sent would be greater than the amount received. I think this is what explains it. I don't know if it makes sense but this is the thing that is unusual which I formulate my logical reasoning with some computation. Or can we just say a bug maybe?

yes, it is perfectly possible on a buggy platform called blockchain.info! they actually used to show these kinds of stuff differently with a red warning on top of the page saying this address has done a double spend but i don't know why they removed it! and this transaction is causing the bug in that block explorer: https://blockchain.info/tx/a35a5c0b334098c70bd2d955d0ecb23075eca72f42d3bf90b8a2f50fcddd07b9and it is because the "balance" field is just a simple sum of (received - send) and since there is an additional "invalid" transaction which they don't drop for some weird reason the sum is negative.

To add to this for the people who has some difficulty understanding the difference between The Bitcoin Blockchain and https://blockchain.info < Believe me, there are loads of them > https://blockchain.info is a site with software or tools like a Block explorer that is used to represent the Bitcoin Blockchain < It puts it into a nice GUI for everyone to read more easily > So what Pooya87 is saying is that the tools or the software that https://blockchain.info is using is buggy and not the actual Bitcoin Blockchain. ^smile^ Use Blockexplorer.com as a alternative for https://blockchain.info

What bitcoin wallet are you using? Try to contact their support and ask about this problem, I know this is just some bugs on their system, and they didn't know about it, so if you are going to consult it to them, they will fix this as soon as possible. I've never experienced this before, but trust me, contacting their support is the best idea so far.

We dont know what wallet do he use since its been showing negative balance and i can say ive seen this kind of scenario on the past which someone do have negative balance on his wallet. Its just really on bug issues on a certain wallet and you are right the best way is to informed the wallet provider through their support. If the wallet address isnt important to you then better to create a new one than bothering yourself on thinking on it.

This is the first time that I am seeing a negative balance on a Bitcoin wallet. It seems like the blockchain.info double-counted two "sent coins" transactions. I think that the balance will be updated to zero once the double count is rectified.

Like me bro, this my first time se the wallet address with negative balances I dont know why it is happen. I dont know also what is the problem of this. Maybe they have bugs on your wallet. Anyway may I ask what kind of wallet are you using? It is blockhain or conbase.? Try to contact the support that they have problem to your wallet so they see the main reason and they resolve it. Goodluck I hope you resolve this.

blockchain.info is not a web wallet in the normal sense, It is two things - as it also is a block explorer, the above looks like it was caused by a bug in their block explorer. It could also be due to a double spent transaction.

I've seen some bitcoin wallet in negative but it will get fixed soon possibly this was caused by the double spending the transaction or maybe the bug on the blockchain website i guess and it isn't normal. I could be wrong though.

Its important to understand that this is not BTC bug but blockchain.info website. Website just show you wrong value, if Bitcoin would make that bugs, price would not be that high and people won't use it that much

This is the first time I've heard of a bitcoin address with negative balance but according to the comments on this thread, it is just normal and it happened a few times before especially with blockchain. Just wait a day or two and everything will be back to normal again.

I don't think it is normal to have a bitcoin address or wallet that has a negative value because it is like having debt and soon you need to pay that debt in order to use it again and back to normal but if i were you, i will just ignore that wallet and try to make a new one because that is not normal and it is risky to use it again.

While rare I have seen some of these in the past. I think it has something to do with some wallets that get private keys registered in them while having a change to the public key from what it was before. Then, once it is spent, the balance is labeled as a negative balance because it never registered any inputs into the address. I may just be stupid but that's the only thing I've thought it could be related to.

this is actually not rare, specially these days with all the stuck transactions and all the RBF transactions that are technically creating a new transaction, blockchain.info will show both of them and will deduce the amoun twice leading to negative (or lower than it should be) balance. i don't understand what you mean by private key and public key though! there is only one possible bitcoin address (public key) for each private key (if you consider compressed and uncompressed then 2) and you spend why you receive! or maybe i don't understand what you are trying to say?
