Why does bitcoin get the advantage of having to buy btc to buy an alt?

Sure seems rigged in Btc favor. What would happen if you had to buy eth to buy any alt? What is a solution for this?

 I have eth that I trade etc and some other coins with. I can use eth to withdraw and I can use fiat to eth to trade to back to fiat. I can do all of this without owning 1 satoshi bitcoin.

 You can do this on poloniex.

 I let my GUNBOT do eth trading for a while and I found trading in bitcoin is much more profitable but it certainly is not the only way.

if you go to the supermarket and want to buy a carton of milk you pay for it with the green paper we know as money.

surely you can convince him to trade the carton of milk with some tobacco, salt, copper or barley but what all supermarkets recognize is that green paper.

you can call this advantage and start crying about why can't you pay with Barley or you can accept it.

p.s. jokes aside there are some exchanges that list shitcoins as a base currency market. for example cryptopia has USDT, LTC, DOGE, DOT, and if i recall XMR.
also i believe bittrex added USDT and ETH as additional base markets.
but these never get any volume!

There is nothing to happen because its almost the same on btc when buying alt using eth. But the price of eth is very slow in moving up that is his disadvantage on btc because btc has only 3 movement pumping, stabling and a little dump on price. There are country also are not accepting eth on our currency because is more popular than eth and that also considered as altcoin.

It's not rigged in btc favor it has developed to be like that. And because bitcoin is far more spread and accessible unlike ETH, which is still kind of new to the market. Trust me, in a year or two you'll see an option to buy any alt-coin directly.
