Ok, I'm reading several news lately about this coming fight. I think this is more exciting than the Mayweather-McGregor fights. Two warriors going at each other. I think no one has been knockout between the two. But I believed that one will go down or this fight will end in a likely KO. I think Canelo's upper cut will be used against Golovkin at he is always wants to go inside. Even the coach of GGG has been saying that they respect Canelo's power. What I don't like about Canelo though is he starts very slow. Will take several rounds before he started to heat up. If GGG won't give him a chance then its game over for him. I'm leaning towards Canelo here because he is younger and he has tremendous power as well.
I think both fans will be fun to watch. Mayweather vs McGregor is great for casuals because of the excitement of the boxing vs MMA world clash and both personalities of the fighters are huge and very polarizing. Canelo vs GGG is for boxing purists, one of the two current best boxer on their prime going at it, it will be a hell of a match. I will watch both for sure.

Ok. Since Mayweather-McGregor is done. As boxing fans, we should focus on the 'real' money fight this year. If you are a hardcore boxing fans, we might say that this is indeed the biggest fight not Mayweather-McGregor. Really hard to predict the winner as both of them are really very good fighter.
I'll still go with GGG I think he's more heavier puncher than the two, body shots, uppercut and he have proven to have a good chin as well while Canelo face is get bloody easy like Marco Antonio Barrera. So I'm seeing this match going the full 12 rounds and the decision going to GGG.

Canelo is a thought guy, if you look at his record he indeed has 0 losses by KO, so the guy has a solid chin. I mean just look at his brick skull, the motherfucker just wouldn't go down. A 12 rounder is a very solid prediction, but GGG is a bigger powerpuncher, and an actual boxer powerpuncher unlike McGregor, so I think GGG could definitely put his first KO on Canelo, maybe by stoppage so a TKO in late rounds. We'll see, it's definitely the best boxing fight of the year.

I agree. I don't think these two fighters are at par with each other as there may not be someone in the current division to match up with golovkin. If i were to make a bet, it's the same as yours, either ko or tko for ggg

Canelo bet has very good value and is worth betting.
I'm a big GGG supporter, as he fights for entertainment and goes for the KO's. But, Canelo has mastered the science of boxing just like Floyd. Thus, unless GGG KO's him he will lose on the scorecards.
GGG last fight, he was unable to KO Daniel Jacobs, and honestly the scorecards could have gone either way. Daniel Jacobs may have even out boxed him, and that's coming from a big GGG fan.

Two weeks before the match but I don't see any really good odds on outright match winner (Golovkin best odds 4/6 and Alvarez 6/4). Seems just completely evenly matched so a KO is unlikely. I would put down a bet on Golovkin victory by decision (7/2 at Ladbrokes) and another on Alvarez by decision (11/5). Small margin of profit if the Mexican pulls through but would give good returns on Golovkin, whom I'd expect to win anyway.
Also, would put even bets on rounds to end at 5-8 (11/4) and rounds 9-12 (9/2).

Finally a true boxing match unlike the Mayweather vs Mcgregor. All I expect from this is a really close boxing match, however, Canelos odds are very good and I think is worth betting on him.

I think so too. He's undefeated for once. An undefeated boxer, without even a single draw, with a huge record like is not easy to find. He'll do anything to keep it. He's also taller which is an advantage and they both have the same reach. I'd put my money on Golovkin.

this is the most exciting fight of this year, it is more exciting fight than previous Mayweather vs McGregor boxing match. i am rooted for Golovkin, GGG has more punching power than Canelo Alvarez, this fight could not comes close to a distance and it may not last up to 12 rounds. GGG the most feared fighter ever lived.

Golovkin was always too big for Mayweather. Mayweather would have been to be at its heaviest and Golovkin would need to cut, but still, I think Mayweather in it's prime could have got the job done, he would have needed to play a game similar to the fights vs the bigger guys he fought, keep digging the body and wearing him out and jab him out, I dont think he could chase him like McGregor tho, he would need to be more defensive.

LOL. How can you say that Mayweather is afraid of Golovkin? Mayweather hasn't campaign at 154-160 lbs. He's best weight is at 147 lbs. For me Mayweather has face the best from 147-154 lbs but Golovkin is too big for him. I think the biggest fighter he tried to avoid in his career is Margarito.
Exactly, GGG is too big and he can't go down to 154 lbs. I think there was talks before If I'm not mistaken. But GGG can't make weight at 154 lbs because he is naturally big and could even go to 170 lbs if needed. Look at Pacquiao fighting Margarito at catchweight during their fight, Margarito rehyrdrated to 170+ lbs before the fight. Although Pacquiao won, he is not the same anymore, he was a damaged good after the fight. Mayweather is too clever to do that. For him, "health comes first".

Margarito lost to Miguel Cotto and Maywaether gave Miguel Cotto a good boxing lesson. He also lost to Shane Mosley. Shane did a good job in the earlier rounds but toyed with him in the rest of the fight and also won. He also lost to Pacman. So you got all those fighters beating each other but nobody has beaten Floyd Mayweather.

GGG being a big favorite confuses me.
Canelo seems to have fought the bigger more established names and tougher competition.
Is Canelo the underdog due to him being shorter and smaller than GGG? I see some sources claiming Canelo is 5'7 or 5'8 while GGG is 5'10.
Conor McGregor probably weighed around 170 lbs the night he fought Floyd. I get the impression height and weight are less important in boxing than they are in MMA.
Are there other reasons which could explain GGG opening as such a large favorite?

I do think the hype surrounding GGG has put him as favorite in this fight. He has no lost.. And he holds the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight titles. And he has also a outstanding amateur career. Canelo's advantage is that is he promoted by Golden boy of course he got the exposure and the more established name fighters. GGG has been campaigning in the American soil only for the last few years plus we all know the Middleweight is not pretty stack up unlike Canelo who fought at 154 lbs who has a good list of fighters. With that said, I would love to see Saul Canelo win this fight and dealt GGG his first lost.

He is undefeated, and undefeated fighters always have that aura about them that makes them special. Everyone either wants them to win or wants them to lose to see how they would react to their first loss (basically a lot of people watched Mayweather fights because of that, that's how he made so many millions) He is also the bigger guy with the better reach, he has tremendous KO power. Both are highly skilled. It's going to be a hell of a fight, there's a lot on the line for both. I kinda wish that Mayweather didn't school Canelo when he was 21 so both could be undefeated for this fight.

It will be a better boxing fight, no doubt about that, but will it be as exciting? we will see, im not sure about it being more exciting. I think Mayweather-McGregor was extremely exciting because of the massive buildup, and because of the novelty factor of an MMA guy taking on a boxing guy in the biggest payday of all times. This is a very exciting fight for boxing fans, but it's not an huge event. I would like to see another MMA vs boxing fight with a Maliggnaggi vs McGregor event maybe next year. One MMA vs boxing event a year would be cool to have.
