Since you didn't reply in the Wall Observer thread, and to not derail it further.

You've been preaching $300k-1M+ USD / BTC this year, so why not bet some BTC on it? Surely you have some extra sitting in cold reserves, considering you're so super-bullish. Easy way to gain some from me and probably others willing to take you on.

I was thinking the bet should be something like this:

There will be meaningful volume (1k+ BTC) traded at over $300k per BTC during 2013 on the top bitcoin exchange. The volume is to discount technicalities like bugs showing unreal highs, which sometimes happens.

I would be willing to do 1:1, and any 0-100 BTC amount.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Is this a joke?..

Who in their right mind would put money on Bitcoins being $300k each THIS YEAR??

Goodluck if this happens...

I kinda agree with him on the $300/mBTC possibility should bitcoin really take off - eventually! But even so, this year? Grin Surely it will take at least five to seven years to go that high, possibly considerably longer.

$10/mBTC within two to three years, like Elwar suggested, looks much more likely, but not probable. I think this may happen due to a major catalytic event which boosts widespread demand for bitcoin beyond 500.000 or so nerds like us. Smiley

He's been preaching we will get to $300k/BTC this year because only 1.5M BTC are in speculative hands (he has his sources), and thus he will be buying all BTC available until we achieve that, and thus he is a supernode, and thus blah blah blah

I'm willing to bet we won't see $300k/BTC this year, as many others I guess. Rpietila: willing to put BTC where your mouth is?

I would definitely take this bet, too. If I win, awesome, and if I lose, even more awesome!

However, somewhere I believe Pietila clarified that he only places 50%(?) confidence on that outcome, so this is probably not going to happen, unfortunately Undecided

He's not going to take the bet, he's just saying all of that to hype... Don't take the guy so seriously he makes a lot of bold statements with loaded words, much like used car salesmen... You're a fool if you take him seriously, even more so to take the time to call him out. Better to spend your time on more productive endeavors..

And so far he still has not posted in response to this thread.

Big surprise.

He must be busy with his Mega-Node thing-a-ma-bob leet club for gangnam style peeps.
