Short update from me - my packet did arrive at about 11am.

I did not get a single ASIC running using
- cgminer (Win Cool
- bfgminder / cgminer (Mac OS X 10.8.3)
- bfgminer / cgminer (Ubuntu)

The only working setup I have right now is bfgminer running Win 8 (on a Fujitsi notebook).

This notebook has 3 USB ports. Running 3 ASICs works just fine :-)
When I try to connect one of them via an active powered USB hub (but no power supplied to the HUB)
it works. As soon as I provide power the the USB HUB with 2 ASICs connected to it Win 8 complains about
problems with the HUB (and of course bfgminer does not detect anything connected to the HUB).

I know, I should not run Win 8  Tongue
But it's one of multiple partitions on that notebook.

I will later try to find out more about the MAC and Ubuntu problems and will get another USB HUB.

Until now - bitminter reports 970 Mh/s for the triple setup.

anyone outside germany received the package? According to dhl tracking system, mine is still stuck in germany. I guess dhl won't deliver on Saturday or Sunday.

After it arrives in your country it will usually takes a day or two to pass through customs, so I doubt you'll see it this weekend unfortunetly - Where are you based?

zur info:

Try the latest cgminer 3.2.0 released today
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0

It auto detects everything, auto sets the settings and just runs (No -S options and no --icarus-timing required)
On linux it's rock solid - would love to know how it works on a windows system with that many USB's.

-----------------------

Linux users should not need any help.
So here for the win users only:

  • download latest cgminer:
    http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/
  • install this driver:
    http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx
    no reboot required
  • plug in the usb miner, wait few seconds
  • search in the Device Manager for:
Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COMx)
keep the COM number(s) in mind
  • start cgminer with the following arguments:
    cgminer-nogpu.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S COMx
    for more than one device: cgminer-nogpu.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COMx -S //./COMy

happy hashing  Smiley
But be careful! they get hot during operation!
I recommend cooling. Direct some airflow over the heat sink.

-S: unrecognized option

FAIL!  Sad

Will not be detrimental to the lifetime.... Wink

@2weiX

New version 3.2.0 - 31st May 2013

Windows users will need to remove the ftdi driver for the ancient serial USB mode and use a tool like Zadig to associate their USB devices with the WinUSB driver (which is an official Microsoft driver).

Ja.
