[GB] USB ASIC miner - closed and completed

So friedcat finally came through with the original heatsink. Noticed that the PCB was discolored under the BE 100 chip. This thing is definitely too hot with the new heatsink, even with active cooling I would say. Now with dual proper heatsinks, we'll see how it goes.

Cool, is there a picture of it somewhere? Got a link?

There was photos of the old heatsink, but friedcat removed them. Maybe someone else has posted them?

Can anyone confirm that the PCB gets discolored by the heat with new heatsink and active cooling too?

If you make another GB at 0.99 BTC make sure you ask for the old heatsinks!

Nein siehst du leider nicht.
der Zoll will schonmal 19% Einfuhrumsatzsteuer 0.99 -> 1.18 BTC + yxts Marge (die muss er auch mit 19%) versteuern und dann noch der Versand.

yeah not so easy also blew up a powerplug of one hub.

good working for me:
logilink 10 Port Hub with 3.5A powerplug feeded with 6 USB eruptors each.
14 Euro on ebay inkl. shipping


there are some hubs locking the same on ebay but there is one Problem plug is only 2.5A (and not a good one!)
be carefull!

Ich denke nicht, dass da noch die Einfuhrsteuer dazu kommt, da die Dinger ja bereits hier in Deutschland auf Lager sind.

Ich bin mal gespannt auf den Endpreis, aber ich glaube nicht, dass es mehr als 1.1 BTC pro Stick wird.

That one looks exactly like the one I had and fried 3 USB eruptor's, but mine had no brand.

Searching in eBay there is not many options with EU power plug :S

I use a 7 port logiLink hub, but only with 6 miners and downlink to another hub.
With 7, two are to close for my preference. 3,5A PS with EU plug.

Irgendwie müssen die ja in die EU kommen, den Zeitaufwand hatte ich bei dem GB unterschätzt, ist doch einiges an Arbeit.

Preise stehen noch nicht fest. Aber wir werden versuchen die Preise vom Kanadischen Reseller mitzugehen.

HW/A is 0.3% with old heatsink. I think we have a real problem! You guys should REALLY care, your investment is burning up!

yxt, ich habe hier drei defekte USB-Erupters... trotz externer Kühlung (USB-Ventilatoren je 5 Sticks 1 Ventilator, das Setup 7x)
Wie soll denn die Garantieabwicklung aussehen ? Denke Du hast den direkteren Draht zu Friedcat.... ;(

Can you take a picture of one of yours instead? There is going to be alot of hard words on the forum if these start to fail because of bad heatsink design. The problem is my chip had 0,9% HW/A witout HS, I'm pretty sure that would be higher if I add that new flat HS.

Edit: maybe it was premature, the HW/A is now up to 0.5%...

Still can someone look at their PCB?

I'm temporarily putting a fan on mine just to try and prove my case.

Ok, nm, still climbing, with fan, and two heatsinks... there seems to be no correlation between heat and HW?!
