Well, after a bit of a scare related to the well documented password-problem with MultiBit HD, I now have access to my wallet again (0.3.0 MultiBit HD, Linux). However, as I prepare to empty that wallet to avoid such a problem in the future, I noticed that the maximum fee that I can set in preferences is 50000sat/Kbyte. This doesn't seem like nearly enough with  bitcoinfees.21.co currently recommending 450sat/byte in tx fees.

Am I doing the math on that right? If so, does anyone know of a way to pay more in fees using that MultiBit HD wallet? Going to another wallet isn't really an option as I don't have the seed for the one that is running now, and just need to get the BTC out of it and quit using it. The bitcoinfees.21.co chart indicates that transactions paying 50sat/byte may be confirmed in '45-1020 minutes'... I can deal with such a delay, but am concerned that it might never go thru.

Any advice or correction to my logic here would be greatly apppreciated.

Find your seed using: https://github.com/gurnec/decrypt_bitcoinj_seed

Then import the seed to "Breadwallet" (iOS/Android) or "Simple Bitcoin Wallet" (Android).

If you can't use BreadWallet or SBW... then my python scripts will help get private keys from MBHD wallet: https://github.com/HardCorePawn/multibit_recovery

Or you can do it manually... create offline copy of https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39/, put in your seed, set Derivation Path to BIP32, set client = MultiBit HD, get addresses/keys. then set client = custom and bip32 derivation path = m/0'/1 and get change addresses/keys.

Import keys into another wallet like Electrum

Since a few weeks i had login problems in my 3 multibit hd wallets...
Now, after i had read a lot in this forum, i was finally able to have acces to my wallets.
I had use BITHER in connection with Mnemonic and i could save all my Bitcoin.

For a friend i had done the same and could save all his bitcoins from Multibit.

Many thanks to the people here in the forum, which had explain that all.

So you were able to use BITHER with the Mnemonic? If so, How? I have tried both the desktop and Android versions of Bither... and neither of them seem to be able to recreate a MultiBit HD wallet from the Mnemonic successfully. BITHER seems to use Derivation Path of m/44'/0'/0'/0

Or do you mean you used the mnemonic code converter page (https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39/) and imported your keys to Bither?

Apps that I know to work are:
Breadwallet (iOS/Android)
Simple Bitcoin Wallet (Android)
Coinomi (Android - Use "Advanced Settings" and derivation path "M/0H")

first i had use mnemonic, than i had importet the keys to bither.
That was all a little bit experimentell, becouse the first time, i not really know what i do but finally it works fine and since that time..i could
restore ..or get back my btc from more wallets with this methode. For all the steps, what i have to ..i had make screenshots, so..next time  i will know what i have to do.

Since my advice to use those other wallets... Electrum has been upgraded to accept BIP39 compatible mnemonics with any derivation path.

It is very quick and easy to use, and MultiBit even released a video demonstrating how to take a MBHD seed and put it into Electrum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-KcY6KUVnY
