It's mostly fair but can be a pain if you have been a lurker that suddenly realizes you want to post then get held up as a newb, but I guess you only have one person to blame for that!  Wink

The person who decides to only tell you about the newbie trap at the very last step of registration?

5 Posts really isn't that big of a deal. There are some forums out there that require 20+ posts in order to unlock certain features.

The fact that it's not the worst out there doesn't absolve it of its failings.

This is the first time I've seen a browsing time being a restriction for a forum...

Yeah first time I encountered something like this as well..
And I've been browsing for a while here, but never felt the need to post. Now that I did want to post, I can't after registering Sad

Five posts down. Tick-tock. I knew I should have registered in January when I began reading bitcointalk. I wouldn't have to deal with newbie probation now, which is particularly frustrating since I finally have a need to really ost in a non-newbie topic.
