Transaction problems uk

Hi I am new to bitcoin. I made my first purchase a few days ago and I put in £10. This was a test to see if that would grow.this transaction was made without any issues. Using my visa debit card.  Tried this morning to put in £100. But the transaction keeps failing this is with coinbase. I am with santander bank in the uk. Is it possible that my bank is blocking me from making a transaction. If so does anyone know of any other possible ways I can add to my bit coin balance. As I only have one bank account. Is there a way to bypass this problem. I really want to start saving bitcoins and I'm gutted that it is not working. Tia.
