It is certainly not a privilege to be talking about terrorism on an internet forum in the era of PRISM and Snowden/Manning/Big Brother. It is simply common sense. I am a college student, you got that part down right, but privileged? Brainwashed? Hardly. Good for you, that you never resigned on critical thinking. Without irony, more young people should question ideas and particular approach to them before making their own mind.

However, and here we differ. You have to be grateful. Perhaps not to government, but to society as whole.

You grew up in one of the absolutely richest and most free countries in the world without having to put any effort into it. Your country was that way long before Snowden/Manning/Big Brother - build by generations of hardworking and even pious people. It will only continue to be that way, if enough young people every generation are able to defend its core values. I take a certain zeal in rejecting the truly harmful/irrational ideologies here, but it is close minded for me to reject an entire school of though because I don't agree with some of its parts. See above post concerning my usage of neonazi. I'm not insinuating that Pro Russian ideologies are bad, I'm pointing out the lack of genuineness its recent adoption by certain parties (The GOP and the Anti Hillary/Soros Conspiracy camp). They were non issues before they became talking points in defense of the current administration. I'd prefer to see them go back to the way they were. I am not a Russaphobe, it a beautiful culture, seemingly cool people, and I like cold weather. More have a problem with thr But, it's clear a historic event has happened with the interference; Russia gets my respect for pulling this off, and I mean that sincerely. The main issue is that the alliances along which both these nations are aligned are diagonally opposite to each other. The United States is a part of the Catholic-Protestant-Sunni Muslim alliance, while the Russians are part of the Orthodox-Shia Muslim-Chinese alliance. The priorities for both these alliances differ, and this causes issues between both these nations.
