Every BTC or LTC transaction I've done so far has been some crazy ass backdoor redneck deal.  This is ridiculous.  If we don't soon get a legit way to buy coins the market will die.

Which ones?

I've submitted my info to Mt Gox for verfication but have heard nothing.

I would do business with btc-e but I don't want to send my info to any of the money services they use.

So far I've found no legit, straight-forward way to buy coins.

How hard is it to use one of the 1000 exchanges out there? I have never done it but I am fairly certain AurumXChange offers such a service, you cant get more trusted then them... they are a MtGox affiliate.

Yes. American even. But I've read bad things about coinbase on reddit. You have successfully used it?

After you actually have a successful transaction, let me know.  You have no clue until you actually try.

Coinbase & Mt. Gox are the best so far which I have found. Contact them & try and ask them why they are not accepting you.

I'll ping them.  But I just read today that Mt Gox is opening 20,000 new accounts per day, so I think they're overwhelmed.  And now with them being sued by CoinLabs it will probably only get worse.

You should post which country you're in when asking for and suggesting exchanges.

Coinbase has been decent thus far. Took about 3 business days to verify my bank account info using the deposit methods, similar to the way paypal verifys a bank account.

The only downside is trying to buy through coinbase. They sometimes "exceed" thier order volume and you put in an order that ends up being a few days out, so you dont know what the market price will be then.
