This is the auction subforum. Retracting bids risks being labeled with a scammer tag unless the auctioner ok's it.

This is the auction subforum. Retracting bids risks being labeled with a scammer tag unless the auctioner ok's it. I guess I could have been clearer that bids are considered binding. Let this be a soft warning. Current bid list: User | Shares | Price | Shares left | nagnagnag2 | 5 | 1.20 | 95 | fhh | 20 | 1.20 | 75 |
I think the current price level is very low. The upcoming dividends are likely to almost double due to the increased hashrate. ASICMINER is dominating the network at the moment!

Welcome to bitcointalk That's a nice and much appreciated gesture! I'm sure you will be happy with your investment. It's most likely to rise in value both in long and short term. As with everything in the bitcoin world it's of course associated with risks. The reason I'm selling off half of my shares now is to spread my risks. Too many eggs in one basket So back in the table: User | Shares | Price | Shares left | chaxattack | 15 | 1.30 | 85 | nagnagnag2 | 5 | 1.20 | 80 | fhh | 20 | 1.20 | 60 |

For simplicity I would appreciate if all buyer who want to use an escrow do so through John. Thanks.

How much is the expected dividend per share per week?

Last week it was BTC0.00735416/share We should see a significant jump this week as the total hashrate has about doubled: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkPdXsQFT-vIdHRVUjQ5Ql9BQWR6OENLMkhyUktUblE#gid=7I haven't followed how the further selling of ASICs has developed. Any sales adds nicely to the coins earned from mining My guess would be in the BTC0.01/share region. Hopefully that's a bit conservative too. Anyone else seen a more detailed estimate?

That's about right. If we can break 30 TH/s before Avalon B3 ships and before BFL sc singles ship, it will be much higher, potentially in the 0.02 range.

-what Hash rate is one share? -are the dividends paid directly or via a service like https://bitfunder.com ? thx There are a total of 400'000 shares, so each is share correspond to 1/400'000th of ASICMINER's total hashrate so share owners directly benefit from ASICMINER's continuous growth. The current total hashrate is ~18TH -> 45 MH/s per share. The yet announced expansion is to ~262TH -> 655 MH/s per share. There is no exact date, but I think the general belief is around June time frame. Please check the ASICMINER thread for more details.

They are paid directly to the bitcoin address registered for each share. If you buy any share from me in this auction, I'll notify friedcat (the man in charge of ASICMINER) and he'll assign the appropriate number of shares to your bitcoin address.

Possibly important clarification to the bidding rules:The auction end time is set to "May 7th, 2013 - 10:00 [GMT]" and with the provided countdown timer. It's a bit problematic that correct time, forum time and countdown time may be a couple of seconds apart. In case of last second/borderline bids, the forum time, i.e. the timestamp in the bidding message will determine the validity of the bid. It doesn't look like it's going to be such a rush, but you never know

Hi I am new to this how do I bid for 100 shares?
Just reply with a line that shows QUANTITY @ PRICE, where price is the BTC you are willing to pay per share. Keep in mind your bid is binding and you'll need to be able to pay in BTC within 48 hours for most auctions (which if you don't have the BTC already in a wallet can be more challenging than one might expect).

It isn't that confusing, this is not official but unofficially the list would look like so: User Shares Price Shares left chaxattack 15 1.30 85 tier 5 1.28 80 nathaniel 50 1.22 30 julz 4 1.22 26 nagnagnag2 5 1.20 21 fhh 20 1.20 1 diotime 5(1) 1.20 0 I guess julz 4 bid is a little confusing. Newer 1.2 bids knocked out by higher bids.

Hi I am new to this how do I bid for 100 shares?
You bid by posting a message in this thread with the format number of chares @price per share e.g. to buy all 100 shares for BTC1.50: 100 @ 1.50 Or any format that can't be misinterpreted will pretty much do And yes, please note that bids are binding. Moderators will supervise and take action (tag as scammer etc) on those who place false bids or otherwise interrupt the bidding process. So please think it through before placing a bid. Only about 5 hours left!

Note that any bid is considered a new bid, unless explicitly stated that it replaces an old bid. It's of course of less importance if the old bid has been outbid (is outside of the 100 offered shares)

I took the liberty to interpret this as a replacement of your old bid. Your old bid was outbid, but could in theory be brought back if anyone above it fails to deliver. Please let me know if you want your bid at 1.20 to remain as well. It should not matter, but anyway...

I took the liberty to interpret this as a replacement of your old bid. Your old bid was outbid, but could in theory be brought back if anyone above it fails to deliver. Please let me know if you want your bid at 1.20 to remain as well. It should not matter, but anyway... Yes, that's ok. My total bid is 10@1.22.

I have a question : What is the process to sell back shares later, if I decide to ? How will i prove to Asicminer to be the owner ?

I have a question : What is the process to sell back shares later, if I decide to ? How will i prove to Asicminer to be the owner ?
The shares you own are controlled by Friedcat; he maintains the central and authorative list. They are tied to a bitcoin address that you give him. To transfer them to someone else, you just PM him; If needed, you sign the message with bitcoin-qt and the address you control. That's all there is to it. As far as friedcat is concerned, they are just transfers from one person to another. The escrowing, sales, bidding, and even the markets on the passthrough's are all separate from him and Asicminer.

Yes, thanks. And I guess if problem arises, an ultimate sign of ownership could be provided by sending a requested amount of satoshis FROM the address registered to some shares. I'm not sure if Friedcat has ever had to fall back on this, but it should be possible.

This is how it worked in another auction I took part in.

Ah, ok. No here first bid at a certain price level take precedence. Lesson learned. I'll be more clear with that in any future auction Please try to stick to even multiple of 5 shares, even though it's not a strict requirement. Thanks. Hi,
I have received bitcoins from everyone except chaxattack, who I accepted to withdraw his bid after the auction ended. Pierrejo, who was next in line to get his shares, had already paid etc, so for simplicity I choose to keep the shares chaxattack bid on. I might open a new auction at a later date, but right now I don't have the time to handle the logistics.
I have notified Friedcat about all the transactions through signed forum PMs. I had to send the requests in 3 batches. The first one actually got processed before this week's dividends, even though I requested it to be delayed, still I haven't received any confirmation from Friedcat. I guess he's a busy man.
I will monitor the bitcoin addresses to make sure everyone get their dividends next week. I'll compensate fully if there are any problems, be it pay the dividends manually or fully refund the purchase. No worries.
Thanks everyone for quick en painless deal!

I have 24 shares that were bid for beyond the 51 shares I won - I expect you to honor the original auction where you auctioned 100 shares, not 85 - to make it up to you - I offer to honor chaxattack's original bid for the auction.

True. I did state that you should have the right to any "lost shares" and I stick with that. I'm a bit busy now, but feel free to initiate the transfer either direct or through John again. Friedcat seems very quick in processing requests, even if confirmations are bit slower, so I'm confident that we'll finish it before next week's dividends. I'll compensate as stated before if not so no problems. No further shares are available for sales at this point. Sorry.
