GPU Mining?

I wonder if GPU Mining is still alive with the new flow of ASICs? GPU mining used to be very good back in 2014. You could mine some coins when the coin was launched and make a $50-$100 easily. Or hold onto your coins and turn into more profits. Does that happen anymore? Is it worth investing in GPU mining like the past for the new altcoins, or the mining is pretty much owned by ASIC farms?
