So these will be GTX 1060s:

So now the only question is the price... and availability... and warranty as in the EU they can't sell it without at least 2 years of warranty.

6gb mem is a waste, and they seem expensive...  $300 - 400
3months warranty is a joke

200 MHs for ETH divided by 8 gpus.

25 MH per gpu with 192 Bit Bus and 2000 MHz is fast though ...

GTX 1060 6 GB model does max 22-22.5 with a heavy oc on ram. (+600 to +800)

Ethereum will go pos is 6 months. then you are left with cryptonight @ 550h/s

My private kernel is doing 600h/s on the 1060 3gb. Much cheaper and with 2-3 years warranty in the EU.

so, this is not open for retail order & only target big fish like genesis & mining farm unless they buy bulk quantity.right?

regarding pos which means nvidia also have only few months to push sales on this GPU and then if pos
happen only have few options for miner to mine. 3 month warranty is just too short lol...2-3 years is better.

Even if they do offer this to the small farm/hobbyist, I don't think this would be too popular.  The resale value on these would be terrible, especially with that 3 month warranty.  An aside note as well, I love building mining rigs myself.  I love playing around with new computer hardware and being able to have it pay for itself and even make a profit.

Anyway, these really do only make sense for larger farms.  If I was a larger farm with not alot of time to spare, buying prebuilt miners is the way to go.

well that is 1060 performance per card right there??!
why bother releasing a mining card if not significantly faster eh?

You do realize you can mine other coins with gpu rigs Smiley A lot of people have stopped doing ETH in favor of ETC or other coins.

Well the cards doesn't have active cooling but it's clear that if you don't put them in a case with active cooling, you're going to fry them or run them throttled to like 300Mhz.

I'd say it is available for retail: http://shop1.heiprotec.de/PC-Hardware-Komponente/Grafikkarten-NVIDIA/Palit-GTX1060-P106-100-6GB-Mining-EDITION::2092.html
But I'm not sure if it is a good choice for a private mining.

If you set up a farm with 1000 rigs with, lets say 6 cards each, you'll end up configuring 6000 cards. Do this with a rx 470/480 or 570/580 you are going to end up doing bios upgrades that take you like, lets say 10 minutes per card, so this would be 60'000 minutes. Or in other words 4 months of 8h workdays if you work every day.

But if you can just plug this card into your rig and hit the play button, well that would be a big + for farms.
For my private use I'm going to stick with my rx 470 or the upcoming Vega as I can take my time for each card to run the best setup on it AND sell it to a gamer after I'm done using it.

If a farm is done using the GP106-100 it will probably go to into a recycling bin.

That's a terrible price as well. You could get a proper 1060 for 2/3 the price.

But since the card doesn't do graphichs it's probobly pre-configured with different memory timings/straps to make ethereum mining faster. Heard some rumours of 26MHASH per card, and the 1060 cards with graphics can max do 22-23 with heavy oc.

From the cryptomining blog:

Quote
The information that we are seeing about the GP106-100 mining GPUs mentions some numbers regarding mining performance, the following numbers are for 8x of these GPUs: 200 MHS for ETH, 2500 Sol/s for ZEC, 4400 H/s for XMR. These numbers translate to about 25 MHs for Ethereum, 312.5 Sol/s for ZCash and 550 H/s for Monero and only the ETH number seems surprisingly high considering what we’ve seen in our recent test of the GTX 1060 9Gbps. So while the GPU might be essentially the same as on the consumer GTX 1060, there could be some differences in the video memory… maybe 256-bit memory bus or optimized memory timings intended for better performance. With a sub $200 USD prices these mining oriented GPUs could be interesting, but the 90-day warranty period could be a bit of a setback.

What a pitty, I would buy such a mining rig, just for fun and testing, points to nvidia.

Anyway, in my country, the taxes on this thing would kill any future profitability.

300+ for a 1060 based mining card is a joke.

Get it under $150 and they might get some interest.
