With 2 friends we are going to invest some € in mining, I want before clicking the order button to be good. Can you guys tell me if I forgot anything? Also, do you know any blueprints/plans to build rigs in aluminium/wood ? I can't find any in stock in France so I'm going to build them.
Here is the setup (4 in total) - Managed to secure 24 MSI RX570 GAMING X 4Gb :

MSI Radeon RX 570 GAMING X, 4 Gb   24x224 €
COOLER MASTER V1200 Mod. 80+Plat.   4x274 €
ASUS PRIME Z270-P iZ270 USB3.1 LGA1151   4x140 €
INTEL Pentium Dual Core SKYLAKE G4400   4x60 €
KINGSTON DDR4 2400 8Go   4x72 €
SSD KINGSTON UV400 120Go   4x75 €
PCI E Riser   24x10 €
Power Button   4x2 €
Price per unit      2027 €
Total order      8108 €

Adding the cost of the aluminium frame etc let say 8500 € of investment. Breakeven expected in 4-5 months?

Is there any difficulties to mine with Z270 motherboards?

Thanks  for the advices

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

The ASUS Z270 PRIME A / AR is verified to do 9 cards, 264 MH/s per rig if you add M.2 to PCI-E expansion adapters.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQ-EAunoAqY

That would lower your costs to 3 sets of motherboards, CPU's, RAM and SSD's.

I recently did a build of the BBT mining case below out of two 8ft pieces of 1/8" x 3/4" angled aluminum, one 8ft 1" x 2" piece of pine and #8 1/2" self-tapping screws. The case will fit up to 7 RX 4XX/5XX if you put them about 1 inch apart. For 9 GPU's I would increase the length of the longest frame section by 7 inches from 19.2 to 26 inches and I would also increase the frame height by 2 inches from 9.25 to 11.25 inches, which means you will need to use three 8ft pieces of 1/8" x 3/4" angled aluminum instead of two.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5xNrlxsCVs

BBT on YouTube said he will have a mining rig case build video next week with updates from his original video.

I can confirm the board you selected works just fine with 6. If you go with 9 you will most likely run into a bunch of problems that create more downtime and increase ROI time.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I think you are wrong to go this way.

do ½ your way do ½ this way if you can get prices

wait for quote take a minute.  build two of mine and two of yours

@ op how much did you spend for the six card setup?

sorry that I missed this.

This is an easy 3 card monster rig.

two 1080 ti's -------------------------1300 on sale
one 1070------------------------------  369
one 128 gb ssd -----------------------   40
one 8gb stick of ram -----------------   50
one i5 7400t cpu----------------------  130 eBay sale
one gigabyte z270 mobo ------------   108
one 850 watt  pat psu  --------------   112

total ---------------------------------- 2109

does 2300 for skein
does  1750 for zcash   at 550 watts.

riser free   and you can add 1 more card with a riser if you want to expand  to me no one should build a six card rig as the first rig.

Where did you find the gpus?

Would love to know this to if you don't mind sharing OP.  I have been looking on/off for RX 570's and have had 0 luck.  To secure 24 you must have a good source.  I would make sure that your deal is "secured" before buying all other gear.  As I would hate to buy all other gear then have it sitting trying to get GPU's.  (You could switch GPU's but that is kinda another topic)

"Breakeven expected in 4-5 months?"

The way the difficulty is going, your 4, 5 months will become 4, 5 years and that if eth does not crash hehe.

I'm mining with 7 GPUs on that board, have yet to try 8.

Might take a while for your products to actually arrive.
Don't expect the market to remain as it is, or grow, I mean it can, it can also become 2013 all over again. Beware

Don't forget electricity, space, a lot of generated heat, and possible replacements.

I think it's a good choice to start mining, but do so with eyes open

keep your options open, a lot are getting into mining and difficulty is rising, you might be better off investing it in btc not mining.

i prefer gtx cards better options on coins, less profit but better chance of resale.

difficulty on its own is not a good barometer, the price of ethereum has increased.

So to reply to the main question, the reseller is a small shop in a small city in France. I contacter many big resellers who wasn't able to snatch any, and this guys told me that he could get for monday 20 RX 570, and I would catch the 4 other on backorder. --> I get all hardware from him, so he only gets the money if he delivers everything.

The idea behind this is to build a small business: with my friends we are looking into in some investment and that 8K would not be the whole of it. It's just a starting point to see how it goes. I know the difficulty is raising but the exchange rate is also crazy high...

Correct me if i'm wrong: let's say I have those 24 card running, but we have more ready to be invested, I could invest into new hardware (Vega? Volta?) or "simply" change currency?

I know it is extremely risky but we are not looking to do it as a hobby but as a business, and as with all business opportunities, if you do go big at the beginning (and I know we are catching the wagon late)  you are ******.

If i'm dead wrong correct me!

At the moment here is what we have/expect:
50M2 cooled place
0,14€/KW Electricity
Run a month with the 24 card and see what would happen
After this period decide if we invest more, decide a strategy etc.

I'm completely open to you advices/observations.

Why the i5 7400t vs a G4400 for about 70 less?
What 128gb SSD are you using for 40?

SSD isn't needed, you can get a 50-80 gig HDD for less than 10 where I live or boot off of a USB. Even more money shaved off the build. You can get by with 4GB of DDR but it may cause some compability issues with some software.

Just keep in mind that there are 10,000 or 100,000 other people doing the same thing and that the profitability isn't going to hold.

I think Phil's suggestion to build a 3-card rig makes a lot of sense, but I would swap out his mobo suggestion with one that can eventually accomodate  6 or 7 gpus, like the Asus Z270 Prime A board.  It might cost you $20 more, but this is a drop in the ocean with the going profitability, right?

Fellow miners, get your thens and thans in order and help other forum readers understand what you are writing. Remember the grammar basics:  B larger THAN A (comparator operator). If something THEN ....
