Hello!
I can get 3 used AMD HD6990 GPUs for a very good price.
Is it still possible to mine XMR with these Cards since they have 2 GPUs with each just 2GB RAM?
For Ethereum they wont work because the DAG file is too large for their memory.
But what about XMR?

Monero is about the best you can do with those cards. Should work with sgminer-gm

Thanks for the quick reply.
Is sgminer better (faster) than Claymore´s Dual miner (I don´t use the Dual function anyways)?

Claymore dual miner is for ETH only. You could try his Cryptonote miner, but I don't know if it will support Terrascale cards like the HD 6990.

LOL
Damn!
Of course you are right. I´m mining ETH with Claymore´s atm ... don´t know why I thought I could mine XMR with it ...

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

So I will try it with sgminer!

Thanks for your help!

Anyone knows what's the hashrate for this card today ?

In this site http://monerobenchmarks.info/ i can see 3 different reports.

- HD 6990 X2                   4 GB DDR5   1482
- XFX RADEON HD 6990   4 GB DDR5   763
- AMD HD 6990                   4 GB DDR5   676

Are these differences because on the "X2" report both GPUs of the cards were used and on the others only 1 GPU was used ?

I have this GPU.

You can mine XMR or EXP or MUSIC

XMR I think it gets like 800 h/s

EXP/MUSIC it mines at 26MH/s

Only issue is its crazy loud and uses like 350 Watts.

XMR - 800 H/s using the 2 GPUs from the card ?

I would think those cards could mine ZEC as well, no clue what their hashrate is going to be like though.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1612329.0

I try to mine with sgminer-gm-xmr , in Ethos 1.2.5 - no success. Ethos techsupport told me HD6990 are not supported. So I switch to Win10| Claymore Cryptonote AMD GPU 9.7 and get it running. 2600 H/s before tuning from 4x HD6990
Tuning advices will be greatly appreciated :-)
1. Should I try to use alternative BIOS (TDP 450W)?
2. What makes more sence - maximum GPU frequency or memory frequency?
3. Claymore suggests HashCnt = 768 as default. Should I change the default?

i do mine with 2 hd 6990 from 2years more or less.. last claymore you can use is has you say 9.7 , you can mine all cryptonigth just set on the miner -allpool 1 for be able to set  a different format wallet ( like yourwallet.worker/email)
msi afterburner , set it at 1065v  829mhz  1250 memory set (drow power will drop brutaly and you will still get 1465h/s)
for dont stress to much the power supply and make less noise for the fan i suggest you to plug external power supply for your 2° or 3° card has i did.. ( 1600 power supply are expensive.. instead you can use 2 old one..)
cheaper you go (buy well) , faster you will see your money return, in my case i buy everything 2° hand and i spend around 500 euro.. do your mat Wink

After the April 6th fork, you will need a new software that can mine (Cryptonight) with the Terascale cards. XMR-STAK and SRBMiner still work with my HD 6950. Neither (software) will work with AEON. Monero only.

Another solution is mining Neoscrypt with them, I get a comparable hashrate in that, but you have to use nsgminer for that, Claymore's neoscrypt doesnt work with pre-GCN cards.

i do mine Electroneum rigth now.. is not realy convenient coz the price drop quite a lot, but i believe  we will see nice price in the near future.. btw you can get around 50 coin for day,  not to bad...
Btw, witch version of XMR-STAK are you using?

Latest XMR-STAK 2.3.0 have decent performance and support most of cryptonight algos (lite, v7, heavy)
Stability is a problem as for now. To get XMR-STAK up and running to normal performance you have to use 14.4 driver woch have it's own drawbacks.
