Hi,

I'm quite new to the whole mining, but i always try to google before asking.
Unfortunately i'm stuck and need some help

I have problems getting more than 4 cards running on my rig.
Windows detects 4 cards max

My config;

- Celeron3930, 4GB, SSD,

- MSI krait B250 motherboard, newest bios flashed.

- AMD RX470 and RX460 cards.

- risers 006 and 006C.

- Uefi win 10- 64bit, clean install, newest chipset drivers etc

What i tried;
I enabled the 4G encoding, played around with gen settings, no change
Ofc the driver fix (copying old driver files to newer driver), no change
Use different older drivers (its RX400 series) 16.11.5, 16.2.1, 16.12.2 etc etc, no luck either.
checked connection offc
I have different brands rx400, windows detects all, but only 4 at a time.

Any1 has ideas, or suggestions?

Tnx in advance

Not all motherboards or chipsets support 5+ cards on risers, even if they have the slots for the cards. I believe most of the B250's only support 4 or 5 cards. That's why it's important to do your research and only use motherboards verified to support the number of cards you plan to use.

i think the B250 chipset should work, lots of good examples of it.

Also the mobo has enable 4g option, wich should free up resources for above 4 cards.
Unfortunately MSI technical support sucks on this subject

did you tried with all the possible option in the bios about gen 2, 3 etc? some slot can be activated by changing those option, if nothing work i think that particular mobo can't support more than 4 gpu

tnx for your support guys!

i'm beginning to believe you're right, PCI-E 3 and 6 are dead (with 6 GPU's)

Just got in a MSI Z270a Pro, and it works fine.

I already suspected the mobo, so i ordered another one earlier on.

I guess i was hope you wizzkidds would know a solution for my krait  Roll Eyes
might try some stuff lateron

The B250 krait is beautifull tho, will make a good replacement for my old mobo. Grin

Tnx for the fast n helpfull support guys!
